Going into this game, I wasn't expecting too much, just something cute n fun.
Holy ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥ ♥♥♥♥.
This game is genuinely a 10/10. If you're not sure if you want this game or not, TRY IT.

TLDR

The story in the dlc is lackluster and disappointing. The sandbox feels amazing, and strand is fun as ♥♥♥♥.

With that aside, Here's my actual review of this.

Lightfall is basically a 50 dollar strand tutorial, with a raid on the way in about 5 days as of writing this review.
The story, despite being the penultimate DLC in the entire Light vs Dark Saga, leaves you with far more questions than answers.
Personally, I can't recommend this DLC. Pay for the season (season 20, as of writing) if you wish to. 10 bucks for that is worth it imo, even without the seasonal storyline, the guns and activities generally pull their weight.

SPOILERS BELOW.

The last year of destiny did a great job of introducing us to the witness, and credit where credit is due, this DLC did an AMAZING JOB at giving the witness more character, with the interactions it has with Calus and its hunt for The Veil. Also, our guardian spoke more than 1 sentence this time! That, however doesn't make up for the bad.

As for the bad, the story felt unfinished. We finally found the Veil after all these years of waiting. But all we know is that it looks pretty, and the Witness used it to go inside the Traveler so now we can't feel the Traveler's presence anymore(???). We know we lost, we were told as much, but we don't know how bad we lost. We still have the light, we still have our ghosts, and the city is still in one piece. Not to mention how, despite the super high stakes, Bungie added a comic relief character that was WAY too high energy and positivity at the worst possible times. It's like they tried to write a new Cayde.

The guns feel good. The story feels bad. I'm tired, I'm sad. I want Bungie to do better. I have hope that they can. But if the Final Shape is just as bad, I'm out. I don't know how much more of this I can handle before I finally give up on Destiny.

This game is honestly a FAT 10/10 from me. It's *just* grindy enough to scratch that itch, genuinely makes you feel strong, and with expert and master mode, gives you a proper challenge, at least for the first few runs. The multiplayer is great so long as you don't steal eachother's loot (or do, it'd be really funny). On top of that, the support for TModLoader is amazing, and I'd personally recommend using mods when you play.
Overall i'd give this 5 final updates out of 5.

Easy Anti Cheat is arguably one of the worst things to come to this game. It removed a bunch of accessibility mods, and only stopped malicious ones for a few hours before they resurfaced. It's like putting a bandaid on a bullet wound. Hopefully they revert it, but I doubt that. It's been a good few years, VRChat. Shame it's like this now.

this game is horrible, its filled with bugs, and there's no option to play the game for yourself. It's all gotta be for one faction or another. 10/10 the mods are fun

Payday 2 is a great time waster if you wanna just hop in and lose yourself for a few hours, but it's also great for a quick, one-and-done heist if that's all you're feeling. The game does have its bugs, but even looking past them, the game is actually really fun.
