I bought the ultimate edition because I wanted everything.
Turns out there is suddenly €30 of unannounced DLC that is not included in the ultimate edition, which was supposed to contain everything.
So bridges burned, instead of getting €110 out of me, you get nothing.

This is my first Final Fantasy I'm playing since the focus was on action RPG. And I gotta say I'm impressed.

The combat is incredibly satisfying and you get new powers all the way till the end. Making it so you can experiment up to the final boss of what abilities you want to use. The fact you can have different loadouts for this really helps.

The story is great, albeit quite long due to vast amount of cutscenes in this game. No joke you can sometimes spend 10 minutes into a cutscene, walk a couple steps into another cutscene. I swear they put those here just so you can save or something.

The DLC really expands on the story, do note you have to be just before the final boss fight to be able to access them. It's quite a shame but it does make sense, we PC players are lucky we can experience this in one sitting because of its delayed release on the platform. For me it really was icing on the cake of this incredibly game already.

Where do I even begin...

This game is just superior in every way compared to the first title. Which is already a masterpiece in its own right.

Let's begin with the characters. 7 out of 8 I really enjoyed. Agnea was the weakest of the bunch but I guess it's quite refreshing compared to most others who are brutal, if not depressing how the story goes.

The combat, a massive improvement overall, the latent powers really add the icing on the cake.

The music, just straight up better somehow.

And also this game contains Ochette, easily the best girl.

Fun MP but the battle pass progression sucks..

Really enjoyed this one, the combat was fun and interesting with all the various jobs the game provides.

I really appreciated the fact the game makes you choose how to develop your characters in a sense in terms of the jobs you give to them. Like I made the hero the tank, shielding my allies and absorbing all the damage. Gloria my healer that was crucial, if she went out of the fight I was practically doomed, Elvis and Adelle were my damage dealers.

The story of the game is not bad either, there were a few moments where I was genuinely impressed and wasn't it expecting it at all.

Then there is the OST, that one is just a masterpiece, there is not a single track in there that I disliked. There are 5-6 boss tracks I believe for just the first part. Then when you get to all the other endings I believe there are like 3-4 more and the final boss track is just sublime how it all ends.

I also got some complaints about the game, the fact there is no side quest tracker is just annoying. You can see which ones are active but as soon as you done them you got no way to know you done a side quest or not unless you always go around every town and their interiors. Like they went their way to number these side quests and everything else has a logbook available (like monsters, items, etc) so this feels like a massive oversight. The same goes for the music player, there simply is none in the game and since this OST is so fantastic it's a darn shame.

Dropped it after 3 hours. It's just too clunky for my taste, I liked the freedom in the combat that was given in Ni no Kuni II which is clearly absent from this.
