Old but Gold

Base game is cool but Mods really carry the game hard. Thrawns Revenge and Fall of Republic are my favs but there are a lot other that lets you play factions from other universes/games like Halo for instance.

I love to be eaten by big horrific deepsea creatures, while the nuclear reactor is currently undergoing an unplanned detonation resulting in the emediate death of everyone on the ship, accept the one guy that was forgotten in the beacon station.

so Starbase, It is a faction based space exporation game in which u can design ur own ship with almost no limitations. It has a huge universe and even has capital ships that can reach up to 5 km in lenght (u can design them urself too). It is really really really grindy and it takes a long time to make a functioning ship. I played the game since day one of EA and instantly got into a faction called Armada which had 50 players playing it daily. the goal for a faction is first to probably build a starbase in deep space where u can build anything u want. u want to build a Anti ship rocket defense? no problem. u wanna build a huge cannon that can oblivirate attacking Capital ships? u can do that. U get Materials by taking ur ship out to the astaroid belt and mining astaroids which, once u mine them will never ever respawn again. But there are so many asteroids, u won't really have to worry about that. they are adding moon mining too which will be a more advanced way to collect resources and make that bread. I once went onto a operation lead by my faction which was to go into the deeper astaroid belt and get the good ore. It took about 3 irl hours flying there and 3 hours flying back. lets get back to the ship builder tho. in my 100 hours of playing the game, I started on 2 ships. the first one was a cargo howler which was suppost to help players bring lots of ore back to the starbases (took me 1 week to build and is still not done). My second ship was a fighter which was fast but it took me 2 weeks to build and after I had finished it, I was just exhausted but it was still fun testing it out. the good thing about the ship builder, is that u can accually make a ship as a group. there is a group builder mode that 2 of my faction comrads used and speedrunned a really basic cargo howler in 2 days for an operation. The ship builder is even so advanced, it has its own programming language called Yolol, that u can acually learn. some players wrote a code that gives u a coordination system, which is really liked by all the players. on the starting platforms which they are 35 of, there are muliple shops where u can buy player designed ships that is being updated often. overall the game is a huge grind but is hella fun when u have a big group of people playing it with u
In my opinion this was the best game of 2021 and deserves a bigger audience.

This is a masterpiece.
Its the perfect factory game in that u can build ur own factory on multiple planets and literly use ur entire star system for Power/Resource production. I have played for 72 hours on one of my save files in which I either was fully concentrated on automation or was looking at my dyson swarm/sphere and were just amazed by what I have I created with my own hands.
Ofc it has some bugs and still needs multiplayer but its still worth playing in by urself
