Closing in on 200 hours I think I'm finally ready to offload, while I believe the game to be a HUGE leap in the ARPG genre there are some gripes I have with the current state of the endgame.

I spent 40~ hours leveling up a Merc and then a Sorceress in the campaign, I believe the campaign to be a 9/10 and while that might be different for say example the warrior class I still believe the campaign to be an absolutely great first experience and introductory process into the world of Wraeclast. While I don't enjoy rerunning campaigns, did that in POE1 2013-2017 a hundred times, the first run through Act 1-3 was a genuine great experience. With that being said I'm not happy with the state of what happens after you leave the campaign.

Time consuming.
I've spent the last 160 hours looking for citadels, I've found two and they were both Iron Citadels meaning I have still got to find Copper and Stone. I understand that I might have put myself in this situation by choosing to play SSF but I dont see how me playing standard and having to buy Copper and Stone fragments from other players makes the situation any better. There has to be a change in how Citadels are found and why not implement it in the Towers?

Towers, a Tier 1 Waystone in the trash.
Please implement something, atleast a chance for the tower to point you to the nearest Citadel. It dosn't need to highlight or tell the player how far away the citadel is, but atleast the smallest inclination so the player has something to go of off. A tiny rock arrow towards stone or some ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥♥ becouse currently towers are just a time sink of 3-5 minutes to pick up maybe one or two rare items and to light the beacon so you can put in a Tablet.
While I don't dislike how the tablets work, especially if you have several towers overlapping an area, it is an incredibly tedious process where you can play 10-20 maps in an area JUST BECOUSE you don't want your tablet uses to end up on those maps. By doing this you can kinda target what maps the tablets affect and have some incredibly potent maps with 40% more rares 100% magic pack size and rarity numbers that pushes the stupidness of it all back into POE1 gameplay. I am not really here to talk about rarity as that is an issue for Standard, I will say that rarity is in a really bad place - but I think its to late, any change GGG does now has to be followed by a new league for a clean slate and I don't see that happening in the near future.

But If we backtrack to what I find in the middle of the stupidness - One Death.
One Death is all it takes for those 10-20 maps, those 5-8 tablets on Corrupted Maps with Iradiated and Breach/Delirium/Expedition and or a Boss. One death and that map is gone, I don't mind this but when you include this in Bossing then I feel a bit to punished for ignorance but mainly lack of knowledge. I don't think that the first time you finally decide to put in that Breachstone that it should be a one and done ordeal. Imagine if I spend another 160 hours to find the other citadels only to get blasted by the boss? "Oh GG, cya in 320 hours." Then you might say, well watch a fight before you attempt it yourself.. and while that is a valid opinion, Its not one I share. I don't want to make to many similarities to POE1 but what happend to the first eater/exarch* fights? Atleast you can attempt and see the fight before you get tossed back out onto your ass in the hideout.

Somewhat of an conclusion.
I probably sound salty and I probably am but I'm not new to these type of games, and while I'm not a Ladder SSFHC blaster I'm no slouch either. So I worry for the gamer that has a maximum of 10 hours a week to play, where does he fit into this current mess? Maybe he shouldn't play the game? Time will tell where we and he ends up.

I highly recommend the game as long as you're in the campaign as I feel the game wastes your time in the current iteration of endgame.

While I'm sure there's a multitude of minor and major bugs I honestly just hope that the playerbase and GGG can continue a healthy relationship.

*Pinnacle fights in POE1, with infinite attempts and easier/less mechanics for trial and error.*

Truly awesome COOP game, brought a heafty 100 hour worth of gameplay with the hardest difficulty. Lots of more to be spent on Arena and further COOP saves
