It somehow works way better than you would think.

Wow!

There's a lot of problems with this game. A lot of the mini-games are fairly basic. You don't get to spend enough time managing the restaurant. The combat sequences are kind of rote. Parts of the game are poorly playtested.

But you will be floored by the amount of game in the game. Seriously, 30 hours in and they are *still* introducing new gameplay mechanics. Absolutely bonkers. Mad respect to the devs for this masterpiece of an overstuffed game.

Updated my review. Screw this game.

The actual roguelike loop is actually really good. The combat is great. The animations and art are amazing.

But it's a diamond wrapped in a massive turd. The game itself is terribly designed. A run is either hilariously easy until you get sideswiped by unfair and random RNG of a boss you didn't memorize. Or you start out a bit unlucky and then the game just piles on you.

Until they open up modding for the game don't waste your time.

Loved the art and the premise. Respect the studio putting this out so cheap without P2W.

But man what a criminally unfun game. Insanely sweaty gun dueling + a deck of "gotcha" cards that you have to grind to upgrade.

If they had an actual team-based game mode with objectives this concept would have been a slam dunk but as it is this is going to be a HARD pass from me.

I'm sure with another 100 hours of playtime I could figure out what I am supposed to be doing.

I'm still waiting for a tactics game that doesn't hate its players.

The story is boring and meaningless. The UI is annoying. The difficulty ramp on the campaign is stupid - ridiculously hard and punishing to start, then easy as you get later in the game? The game doesn't make any of the strategy apparent, other than drop in the biggest mechs you have every time. The danger rating is a complete joke.

All would be forgiven with the occasionally fun gameplay, if the game wasn't SLOW AS MOLASSES. It is distinctively unfun to only have 4 mechs every game, but often have to go up against 8-16(!) enemy units per battle. So for every move you make, you may have to sit through 4 enemy attacks. Add in the weirdly slow load times and the number of times you have to reset a battle and you might get minutes of fun per hour invested.

Don't waste your time.

This game has a brutal learning curve.

I was looking for a fun and simple arcade racer to play with my son or friends casually. The look and feel of this game are very inviting, but the gameplay is not - the driving characteristics are punishing and almost nothing is unlocked to begin with.

But maybe you are looking for a serious hardcore racing game about toy cars.

This game started out amazing - a rich, beautiful, provocative world that you want to explore. I refused to read any guides or spoilers.

But a couple of days in and I kind of ran out of things to do. I kind of just sat around and let time pass.

Come to find out, it's basically possible to brick your game storywise if you don't get Shivers to a high enough level. It would have been great if the game prompted me on this instead of, you know, quietly locking me out of a large chunk of the game completely and forcing me to restart. (The world is not nearly as wonderous on the second playthrough)

Come to find out this is a intentional decision by the designers and they have refused to address it for some pretentious reasons.

There's an amazing feast of a game here and but I am just so frustrated about how the developer dropped a massive turd in the middle of it for 1 out of 50 people to accidentally bite into. You'll probably get a better experience.

This game is a throwback to the addictive Flash games of my youth. I could totally see myself playing this non-stop on Armorgames or Miniclip in the back of the computer lab.

Easily worth the price for that cushy nostalgic feeling alone.
