A simple, yet addictive game. And given the price ($3, but even lower on sale) I can say I've already gotten the value of this game many times over in the amount of time I've spent in it already. The only gripes I have is that they don't give you enough time to react to things sometimes (such as when the middle hexagon folds in to make a smaller shape and one of the exits is removed) and the fact that there is no options menu. But I still feel guilty for listing them. Because at worst, this game sells for $3. Come on.

Like a million times better than Runner 1.

Looks gorgeous. I know Runner 1 had that 2D retro thing it was rocking but this honestly looks so much better. And it still has 2D retro stages so those sort of make up for it. Oh, and more importantly you can access them from the map screen this time so no having to replay the level perfectly on one life ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥♥ anymore too.

Actual replayability this time. Branching paths. Unlockable (strange) characters. 3 difficulty levels.

CHECKPOINTS. IF YOU HAVEN'T PLAYED THE FIRST THEN YOU WON'T UNDERSTAND HOW GLORIOUS OF AN IMPROVEMENT THEIR INCLUSION IS. IF YOU TRIED THE FIRST ONE AND HATED IT YOU PROBABLY QUIT ON ODYSSEY. I KNOW. Hell, the option to skip them for extra points is great too.

Still frustrating as hell because your eyes tend to blur things after a certain point and there's still somewhat of an element of trial and error memorization or clutch reflex things you need to pull off. But this time it isn't enough to turn me off from this game.

I probably missed stuff but yeah, worth a pick up. Runner 1 is okay but there is a clear drop-off point at the end of the first world because they took everything that ruined the game and shoved it all into the longest level in the game.

Single player is fun, I have been playing it a lot the past week and even though I feel like I still don't get everything I don't have to in order for it to be fun. After getting a really good deal for the game and all existing DLC, I feel like I haven't even scratched the surface in things I can do.

Only major complaint I have is that players online suck. Not as players, though they will mostly pick "overpowered civs" to try to compensate for something... No... as people they do. They will quit the first time something doesn't go their way (lose units to barbarians cause they are being dumb, lose out on a world wonder they were building, etc) to the point where you are playing against all AI before you can even build up an army to face the other civs. That takes all the fun out of trying to play online.
