Update:
Microsoft decided to once again re-release AOE2 and abandon this game and charge $15 for what should of been an update of AOE2 HD. As for the new content that should have been sold as a DLC, with the base game free for owners of HD.

Its the same old AOE 2 just updated to work on modern PCs with very limited graphical improvements; there are no new textures in most places with the tech menu being pixelated, no remastered cinematics, etc. makes the 'HD' part of the title rather misleading.
I would not recommend it at full price as it’s just not worth it for the little effort that went into the ‘HD remaster', but if you miss AOE gameplay or simply want to relive the old AOE2 days it’s well worth a purchase on sale for $5.

As an original outdated AOE2 its 8/10
As an updated HD remaster its a 2/10

Decent DLC that presents a lot of customisation options for your DAF trucks in the game. Would be even better if SCS added more interior colour options, premium steering wheels, and some DAF paint jobs.

Overall well worth 3,99€ but could be improved with a few additions from SCS.

The game is a simple city builder based on short timed campaign mode with primary and secondary objectives, earning stars and trophies based on how well you did. The gameplay has puzzle and time management elements, and one could argue that its more in these categories then in the city builder genre.

The game also has a sandbox mode where you can set your own win conditions, or none at all and just play for fun. In the sandbox it will take you under an hour to max out and try everything the game has to offer in terms of building mechanics, but for the cheap price of €4, it’s a rather enjoyable experience.

The only flaw I could find is not being able to continue a campaign scenario once you meet the main objectives to also complete the side objectives without having to replay the whole scenario again being careful not to satisfy the main objectives before the side objectives are done first.

Overall it’s a fun little city builder. If you are after a very casual, easy to learn city builder game that you can pick up any time just for a few minutes this is definitely a good one to try.

The Heavy Cargo Pack is a very well made DLC and definitely worth the cheap price if you want something new to spice up the game once more. SCS have also done a great job on the new Heavy Haul truck upgrades, hopefully more of the trucks get the upgrades in the future and not just the current three.

However, as few others have pointed out, the physics seem to be far from a real-life trailer that a simulation game should strive for. The heavy haul trailers are no more difficult to drive then the normal truck trailers in the game, you can do crazy turns with 30+ ton trailers and go at racing speeds without any issue, which I am pretty sure should not be the case when trying to capture real life physics and create an accurate simulation.

Despite the physics criticisms, the Heavy Cargo DLC is a well-designed addition to the game well worth the low asking price for the amount of new play experience you can get out of it.

Maybe someday we can also get Oversized Cargo DLC.

Really nice DLC; Even though I got it during the event, its nice SCS is making it available to all who would like to have it; and the additional content existing owners get is well worth SCS revisiting this old DLC.

If you enjoy word games, particularly the scrabble type 'make a word out of tiles' ones then this is definitely the game for you.
Very enjoyable word gameplay; good progression with character and game upgrades, multiple ways to win a level, endless mode and an overall great word puzzle gameplay experience.

Please fix the subtitles; these look like they were auto generated by youtube. There are quite a few mistakes, which at times makes it very hard to understand. The subtitles are also cut off by running off the screen.

If you speak Russian you should have no issue with this and enjoy the video, but if you only speak English it might be better to hold off until they fix the subtitles.

To the producers:
If its too expensive to do professional English subtitles, maybe try to enlist few members of the community that are Russian/English speakers and are willing to help fix it for you.

Finally after more then a year since the original blog post, we get the Michelin DLC. It's great to see real tyre brands in the game as it adds realism to your truck. They could have added bit more tyre types, and more full sets that match i.e. front and back, but overall it adds a lot more choice compared to the default non-brand game tyres.
I like that SCS has added couple of themed paintjobs and other accessories to complement the Michelin tyres for fans of the brand to show off.

Overall at 2,99€ it is well worth it for the ammount of content you are getting.

Hopefully other tyre manufacturers will come on board soon and we will have their DLC as well, not just in ETS2 but also in ATS.

As I have said in my ETS2 review driving a virtual truck might not seem like the most exiting of things, but ATS just like ETS2 before it manages to achieve the improbable and actually makes it a very relaxing and fun experience to just start your favourite music on the radio and drive through the expansive roads, cities and small towns of California, Nevada, and Arizona delivering various goods and growing your trucking empire.

Both ETS2 and ATS have something unique to offer. ATS captures the feel of US roads pretty well particularly after the rescale SCS has done to make the map a lot bigger and complete. The diversity of companies and cargo is pretty good in my opinion, and the three states provide plenty of roads to drive, even if not as much as full ETS2. The complexity of cities is also better in ATS than in most parts of ETS2.

ATS definitely has a different feel to ETS2, the landscapes are new as well as road layouts and the overall feel is different to when I am driving in ETS2. You can definitely tell whether you are in Europe or the US and not just because of the truck you are driving.

The only downside of ATS currently is that it has only 2 truck brands with 4 truck models together; and it seems SCS is having a rather hard time getting new truck licenses so the wait for new trucks, if you don’t like using mods, might be rather long.

Overall ATS is a brilliant US truck simulator with a ton of potential when new states and new trucks are added in the future.

First impression after a bit of riding and gliding is that I really like the game and its really fun to ski, snowboard, or glide down the mountain and definitely look forward to playing it lot more and seeing what it has to offer.
So far after about an hour it seem to be going from challenge to challenge without any real 'home base' to customise gear and character, etc. maybe just haven't gotten that far along.
Only downside is that you need a hell of a PC for it to run and look in a way to be enjoyable and fun to play.

If you are even remotely interested in any of these sports you should definitely give the Beta a try and see if the full game is worth it for you.
