A game I keep coming back to as they continue to try and improve it. It can suck hours away before you are aware of it.

As someone who read the books I can proudly say it so far in my playthrough stays very true to the books in storyline, dialogue, and misc encounters. The game however doesn't explain much about the world without direct interaction, particularly about the perished lands, the wars, world, and the factions involved. The prologue doesn't explain anything beyond game machanics and will no doubt leave people new to the series scratching their heads.

As far as gameplay is concerned it is hit and miss.

The open world map will be familiar to anyone whose played Wasteland 2 or even Age of Wonders. Its a nice touch to be able to explore at will and find miscellaneous encounters throughout. To those who like to find all the hidden goodies, easter eggs, and lore it is a boon. The graphics are attractive though not anything astonishing. Controls are simple.

The biggest problem I have found is the companion A.I. tends to be very poor and you be cursing your allies because they tend stop fighting in the middle of a battle if they kill those directly near them until you redirect them back to the action and Boindil in particular needs improvements due to how surprisingly fragile he is in the game compared to the books.

A solid near-sim that keeps progressing in a positive way.
