This game consistently punishes you for existing.

Wanna explore? You have a stardew valley level of accelerated time that will mean that by the time you start doing anything, you already have to head back to camp due to nighttime.
Wanna farm? You'll have to deal with multiple weed plants and an overcomplicated nutrient system, preventing you from thriving unless you look it up or craft some hat you definetly can't spare resources or time at the start for.
Wanna fight? Enemies have healthpools so bloated you might aswell be hitting a brick wall with your hands.

If i'll need a rage game i'll just boot up counter strike, thanks.

If only it could've been longer. Both as a VN and as a dungeon crawler.

Fairly unexplored idea of sentient weaponry felt nice - even if it felt a little awkward at the start.

Dungeon crawling aspect is a bit bare-bones.

Achievements weren't that hard to get.

Sadly, a one off.

This game had the potential to be a really good roguelike, if not for the incredibly dumb design of act 3 bosses.

First one gets strenght based on how many Power cards you use, which is what Ironclad is known for - Strenght stacking

Second one force ends your turn if you play 12 cards, keeping the counter between turns, completely gimping Silents' discard and draw, aswell as abundance of low cost cards

Third one is basically an enrage timer as he buffs himself every other turn, meaning you'll have harder time setting up as Defect or Watcher with either orbs or stance cards/retains.

Meaning you might aswell restart the run if you see that the boss happends to be your direct counter. Which is as backwards as it can possibly be for this type of game.

Login, press a couple of buttons, logoff for X amount of hours, repeat.
As boring as it gets. Seen more engaging mobile games than this.

There are very few gems in the horror genre nowadays, thanks to overabundance of cheap jumpscare startlefests. I wouldn't even count those as horror.

I much more prefer atmospheric horror with opressive mood that glues your attention to the screen, while not abusing the fact by startling you at every avaliable step.

This game offers that, and more - branching storyline, incredible atmosphere, a lot of the plot is open to interpretation, combat actually requires you to get a hang of it to not get your teeth kicked in as you progress...

In fact, it left such an impression on me that i became a junkie for everything related to it - my desktop wallpaper is a screenshot of "The Three"s dialogue window, i frequently listen to the OST for relaxation, and after getting 100% on the achievements i sometimes hop in for some wacky challenge runs, such as no essence or speedrunning.

I would definetly enjoy being able to experience this game as i did first time - it left a mark on me. And i'm positive it will do so on you too.

Game has a lot to offer for it's price, including a fairly healthy modding scene, but one thing gimps any enjoyment one would have from exploring this - time management. Days are extremely short, you need to travel quite the distances to get whereever you need to go, and to top it all off - there are time sensitive events, sometimes limited to only once a year.

And in general once you go for the completion or just realise that you're missing a crop for something you wanted to cook or as a gift - if it's not in your storage, you're forced to utilize limited greenhouse space, which you'd probably be using for something like ancient fruit/whatever other high sell price crop there is that's avaliable to you.

And once you learn all of this, including NPC schedules ( which will infuriate you when going for max relationship grind ), the game becomes a planned list of chores. It's a bit like work, which you probably just came off from to have fun in a video game. And thus, the major point of "game as entertainment" is null and void.

Even short round based games like cs or kf2, while not having much depth or any plot for that matter - still offer more escapism and entertainment than this.

It's like the game is fighting you - from clunky UI to unintuitive crafting.
There are way better free games than this ball of jank.
