still just at 14% story progress and already one of the best VR games we got in recent years

besides the hefty hardware requirements for the underlying unreal engine its one of the top sims.
Amazing immersion due to good, almost glitch free graphics, the great force feedback and telemetry output. Thats especially true while driving in the rain when things get a bit hazy.

it was great back then, but if it wasnt free to try i wouldnt fully recommend it nowaydays.
a bit aged engine and aged look. wrong scaling in cockpit view, maybe its the scaling/model of the cars itself. average force feedback by todays standards but great feedback from the chasis and dampers. well, just give it a try and see for yourself. my personal highlight in raceroom is the 2 hillclimb tracks. lots of elevation changes and some jumps that translate surpisingly well into the force feedback and telemetry.

pros:

cons:

they claim the rights to collect and sell your data on a pretty large scale

also:
uninspired gameplay.
flat soundesign.
a trillion polygons but then less varied textures and worse lighting than quake 2.
unreal engine popin stutter fest.

summary for now:
your typical f2p shooter, some like it some wont
the really bland introduction and the stutters leave a very bad first impression

Not a Hardcore Sim but the best Rally Experience available.
No clue why you guys have stutters. Besides the initial shader compilation mess on launch, i had no issues with that. Just needs more body roll and a bit less grip on the modern cars. and of course VR support :)

Update:
i started to enjoy the fully-fledged slushy salad experience i get in VR. The eye eats too as you know. Gonna turn into a vegetarian soon. 🐬🐬🐬

Tcha, sah echt vielversprechend aus..
das Spiel lebt einzig von der hochauflösenden Grafik in allen erdenklichen varianten von Kotfarben.
Der Rest ist größtenteils belangloses, stumpfes herumgelaufe, untermalt von einem merkwürdigen Audiomixing.
Schade.

great mix of top down shooter and towerdefense and base building

The GOTY is just 9.99 right now, what a steal!
The graphics, the Sound, the Tracks, the VR support, the FFB, the countless small details... Everythings is just **ing great.
Also just works excellent with whatever input device thrown at it. Really, there isnt much to complain.
