Why I Can't Recommend "Risk of Rain 2"
Risk of Rain 2 is a game that I can't recommend for several reasons:

1. Poor Introduction for Beginners:
The tutorial in the game is extremely basic and doesn't explain much of the core mechanics. You learn that you're supposed to progress through multiple levels with up to four other players, with each level becoming increasingly challenging. But beyond that, there's very little guidance. As a beginner, you quickly feel lost and confused. The various items you encounter are shown to you, but there's no explanation of what they actually do. If you don't spend a lot of time researching through external sources like the "Risk of Rain" wiki or other guides, you'll be completely lost. Even after watching tutorials, it often remains unclear which items and strategies are truly effective.

2. Unfair Competition for Items:
Another major issue is how items are handled in the game. Anyone can pick up the items that drop, meaning other players can simply snatch them from under your nose. It's possible to end up in a round with only five items, not knowing what they do, while other players are already equipped with 20 to 30 items. You're forced to fight over items, hoping that someone in your party will carry the game. There will be times when you feel completely useless in a round because you either don't have enough items or don't have the right ones—and that's just a bad joke.

3. Lack of Improvements Despite DLC:
Don't get me wrong, I've owned the game for a while and hoped it would become more user-friendly over time. But even after the release of the latest DLC, nothing has really changed in this regard. There are new maps and characters, but the fundamental issues remain the same. After investing 15 hours into the game and getting the DLC, I'm disappointed that the core gameplay hasn't improved.
While I did have fun playing the game, especially with friends, the randomness, the steep learning curve to understand what each item does, and the fact that items can be stolen from you, leaving you underpowered and useless, make it a frustrating experience in the long run. If you don't have enough items, you quickly feel irrelevant—and that really ruins the fun.
