Home Sweet Home: Survive is a game where 4 Survivors try to make 3 rituals and escape from the specter or exorcise the specter. Every Character has one individual Perk and 2 perks you can choose. The same with the Specters.

At this point I want to mention that I haven’t played the Specter yet just because I am not interested in playing Specter. This Review includes my opinion of the Survivor side. Please be patient. I really do love this game and I really do recommend it to everyone!

Fun factor
I started playing the game 2 days after release and I had extremely fun from the beginning on. Probably because I played over a thousand hours in Dead by Daylight the game gave me a new way to enjoy these kinds of games. Me and my best friend compared a few things and in general we had like lots of fun! We played it one week non-stop. But at some point, it went difficult because as 4 or 3 Survivors we were not able to find a match. Sometimes we were searching for a game 20 minutes which is way too long for the fact that a round could take like 20 minutes. It was frustrating at this point. But with changing the Server from Asia to Europe or USA it was better. And every time we found a match a game started, we had lots of fun!

  • Lots of fun
  • Different like similar games which gives you new experience in these kind of games
  • Long queuing in bigger groups

Control and gameplay
About the Control of the game, I don’t have any problems. It was easy to play from the beginning on because it was similar to other games. In the worst case you can still change the controls like how you want them. Now with the gameplay included the Camera vision… it takes getting used to it. So, while you running, walking, standing and jumping you can move your camera round. When you move your mouse, you turn your character around. Which is at this point very soothing. But when you start interacting with something like a ritual, a chest, an item or a vent your camera vision is stuck in the direction your character is looking at for the amount of time you are doing the interaction. You can still turn maybe 90° to each side but you can’t look behind you. I know that few of people are complaining about it but in my opinion, it makes the game a bit scarier and more exciting.

  • Controls similar to other games
  • Changeable Controls
  • You can play with Controller
  • Camera vision takes getting used to it
  • Camera vision makes the game scarier and more exciting

In Game
There are a few Tactics that people use to do like making the ritual to 99% and then doing all of them at the same time (which I do not support and will talk about it later here) or 99% the escape gates just in case if you nearly die. Preparing one room with lots of items for endgame or in general. Opening all the doors so the specter doesn’t break all doors in the begin of the game and the survivors are still able to use the doors when they need them. And lots of more things that I will not mention because this will be too long already. It is pretty comfortable to play with tactics but as I mentioned I am not a big fan of the ritual 99% tactic. Probably lots of people hate me for that but if a Specter is not camping the rituals, I do not recommend to do the rituals. It takes too long for the survivors to finish the game. At least in my experience it always happened. So, I started not supporting this tactic. But only when the specter is not camping otherwise I do support it.
And Home Sweet Home: Survive has a in game chat! You can write with the survivors AND with the specter too. There is a Team and All chat in game. But please be aware that in game chats can cause toxicity. These are just Randoms and they don’t deserve to make you down.

To I mentioned here:
  • Few tactics
  • Why I do not support the 99% ritual Tactic
  • In game chat
  • Toxicity in chat
  • All and Team chat!

Graphics
From the very start I fell in love with the graphics! It reminded me of the “The Walking Dead” Games. It looks beautiful and I completely support this graphic style! The Characters look beautiful with the graphic and the same with the maps! I never thought “Oh, this looks terrible” or “Oh, they could do it better”. There are every so often some details and it is wonderful.
About the visual bugs I want to mention:
It is their first Multiplayer game and they fix bugs very fast. If you find any Bugs please report them in the Discord server! This would help the Developers and the Community!
  • wonderful and clear graphic
  • reminds me of the “The Walking Dead” Games
  • Characters and Maps beautiful
  • Visual bugs exist always but they get very fast fixed!

Sound
!!! Turn the Volume down when you start the game for the first time, it will be loud!!!
The sounds are giving me the vibes that I need for example the Swamp Map. I hear crows (or whatever these are) and frogs. In the Hospital sometimes the phone rings (which you can click on and you see for a few secs the specter) or something moves next to you. Every so often I get goosebumps but I need to mention I get easily scared.
I am in love with the Music you get after ending a game :D
It literally brings you out of the game and cuts you out of the atmosphere. I love it!

  • Volume loud by starting the game for the first time
  • Sounds giving you the right atmosphere
  • Sounds help to make the game scarier

Replayability
And the best thing of Home Sweet Home: Survive is…. Replayability!
You don’t finish the game by playing few rounds of it. You can play it anytime again and if still gives you joy! And I want to mention again… this game is still new and they will bring a lot of stuff in the future out.

Dead by Daylight is a multiplayer (4x1) survival-horror Game where one player takes on the role of the Killer, and 4 other players as Survivors which are trying to escape the Killer by turning on 5 generators and (need) 1 exit gate. The Killer tries to catch and kill them.

While Survivor play in third-person the killer plays in first person.

Fun factor

I have been playing Dead by Daylight since a while now, been playing other Survival-horror games like Friday the 13th, Propnight & Home Sweet Home:Survive. But Dead by Daylight will be forever the game that reminds in my heart. If we just ignore the fact of the unbalanced MMR system you can actually have fun in Dead by Daylight. It is not a beginner friendly game and even people that come back to DbD will find a hard time playing the game but the more frequently you play it the better DbD turns out to be.

Survivor

Playing alone as one survivor and 3 other random survivors is possible but very hard and not really that much fun.
I really recommend here to play ATLEAST with one premade. Playing with one more person than yourself improves the fun factor by a lot. A full "survive with your friends" ( 4 people ) group is the best at this point. But as I said, you can play the game alone and have fun or with just one more friend :)
Everything can be fun. ♥
But as someone who is new or came back to the game, play with atleast one more friend, it will not frustrate you by a lot. You can atleast count on eachother!!

Killer

Playing as a Killer can be very hard and frustrating especially when you get experienced survivors and you dont have any good perks in your build. But I can highly recommend Killer!! Especially when you are new you should maybe play the Killer for one round and after Survivor just to figure out how Killer works but even if you just play Killer, it is completely fun and makes a ton of fun! Killers have a shorter matching time than survivors because they are more full survivor lobbys than actually killer. So you can faster come to play the game. I really love playing killer when I am all by myself and dont know what to do. Trying to outplay the survivors and try to control the game is actually hard but it makes so much fun! The more perks you have the better it is! Different perk builds can change your Killer experience by a lot! Try it out~ ♥

Control & Gaming

As I mentioned the survivors play in third-person view and the Killer in first-person. Each Killer and Survivor can carry 4 Perks and 1 Offering with them. The Perks can have big impact on your gameplay and your surroundings. Some survivor perks are working on others, generators, totems, enviroment and Killer, depending on which one you have with you. Killer Perks can also work on survivors, generators, exit gates, repairing/healing speed, enviroment and yourself.
Bringing Offerings into a round can bring you more Bloodpoints, higher chance for map, enviroment change, starting with other survivors together/for away from the killer, and much more other things.
While Survivor can Carry Items with them (Keys, Flashlight, Flashbangs, Maps, Toolboxes, Medkits) one at a time with 2 Add-Ons (which can "upgrade"/"buff" your current items) the Killer has their Weapon with their Ability instead of Items. But they can also improve their Weapon/Ability with Add-Ons.
Survivor can not kill the Killer, they can only run, blind(with flashlights, flashbangs, persk, etc.), loop, stun(pallets, perks, etc.) or take protections hits for other survivor to go against the Killer.
The Killer can actually hit the Survivors with their weapon and interact with them with their Ability. They can short hit and long hit survivor with their weapon. Each Killer has their own Ability, check them out by yourself and try out which one you like more~♥
While Survivor are repairing generator they get quick time events where they have to hit skill checks by clicking at the right second the space bar. When they are being picked up by the Killer they have to wiggle (old: with A and D) by succesfully hit over and over again the skill checks. When Survivor get in second stage on the Hook they receive skill checks which they ALSO have to hit to not instantly die by the arms of the Entitus.

Graphics

One thing that we have to mention at the beginning... They are updating visuals over and over again when they become old. Behaviour is ALWAYS improving and never failed on the Graphics, in my opinion. They are respectable for the game Dead by Daylight is. Even the Skins that they bring out are outstanding.
You can lower your graphics which makes the game brighter most part. But even with low Graphics it doenst look the worst. Of course its the most beautiful when you play on the highest Graphics but if your computer cant come up to that point, you are still not missing out the beautiful game.
If you are colourblind you can actually change the game settings to how you like it to be/how its moe comfortable for you!

Sound

Overall the Music is dramatic and fits the atmosphere. The sound effects are leaning on realistic sounds. Some Killers & Skins have their own sounds which makes them unique and wonderful. Survivors are mostly heard screaming and crying. I never had a moment where I thought that is is REALLY Nasty, of course some weird slimy things in the enviroment actually sound slimy and if your watched "Stranger Things" the Demogorgon portals sound 100% the same as in the series. But for the aspect that it is a Survival Horror game where you have to escape several Killers with their unique Ability I think its pretty good in the sounds for each Killer.

Replayability

YES!! Its not a game where you play it once and there is nothing to do anymore. It is a game where you played Matches, you try to win over and over again. You try to level your Characters, maybe farm some comsetics and Perks. Maybe you wanna prestige all your Survivors and Killers? You can do all that. It takes a long time to come to a point where you have nothing to do. Even if you say "Lets get the highest rank!!!" Every 13th of the month we actually have a rank reset in Dead by Daylight, The higher your ranked the higher your Bloodpoint reward is. Survivor and Killer ranked are seperated! So you can get max. 2 million Bloodpoints. You can also play with 5 friends together via "Kill your friends". You dont earn bloodpoints there but you actually can try out Perks and just have fun with friends :D
There is no End in Dead by Daylight. They bring out every 3 to 4 months a new Killer/Survivor out. So then you have AGAIN something to try out, to level and to just figure out.

Support & Discord

I encountered a few errors in Dead by Daylight, thats okay, it is a big game and sometimes things happens. I wrote the Support and they always were there to help me. They 100% answer your inside 48 hours. But they replied to my Ticket inside of 12 hours. The support is YOUR FRIEND... they try to help you. Even if you find small bugs in the game or something weird happened. Please write them, they listen. Behaviour is doing such a amazing job and they really need to be praised more for that. By the way if you cant find the official Dead by Daylight Discord Server.. here it is:
