I have complaints but the team at Firaxis has already put out a announcement today addressing a lot of those including:
- The UI lacks a lot of information at times and at other times the UI on some screens feels very flat and looks a bit rushed
- A lot of the normal map customizations are missing
- and I've run into a few bugs and have crashed one time

Overall I like the game
It changes a lot of features from other civ games and has take a lot of inspiration from other games in the 4x genre that have come out in the years between 6 and 7, and I think that is a good thing. If the games didn't change from one game to the next why would we bother playing it, and why should they bother making it? I think some of the mechanics are a bit odd, like leveling up leaders and other bonuses that carry over from other playthroughs, but I do think it could make interesting replay-ability for some people, including myself. I don't play multiplayer competitively so I have no opinions on how the changes will effect that though.
There are some valid criticism but the game is fun, especially if you like more experimental games in the 4x genre,

♥♥♥♥ you paradox. Love getting an unfinished game, then having support being cut a few months after launch.

Adds so little. Is a huge downgrade in the quality of DLC in the first game.

I don't know how I have 40 hours in this game yet I feel like I havnt even touched the surface of the game

Performance at launch

I have a decently spec'ed pc:
Ryzen 3800x
16Gb ram
Radeon 6800

The game runs for me at a solid 1080p 60fps medium settings going down to a steadieish 45fps once my city gets larger. For a city builder 30fps tbh is perfectly playable. The Game 100% needs to be optimized, but if your pc probably cannot currently run the game to your standards wait until/if they optimize it.

Other than performance the gameplay is a significant improvement over the first game in a lot of ways.

• Road, although they take a bit to get used to, are so much more capable of doing things that you could previously only accomplish with mods. Proper lane math, and highway on and off ramps with dedicated merge lanes is very nice.
  
• Traffic Ai is something I'm still learning the new quirks of, but the ai does feel "Smarter"
  
• The game looks absolutely gorgeous (even if currently there is a lack of diversity in how it can look)
  
• A ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥♥ roundabout tool? Hell yeah
  
• Buildings feel so much more intentional, the scale of a new powerplant is something you actually have to think about before just plopping it down.
  
• the general Public transit is greatly improved
  
• Buildings have much more realistic population and household quantities. Gone are the days of single family homes housing 5 house holds and a 30 story skyscraper only holding 40 households
  
• The diversity and management of the many different industrial goods and demand of different goods is very interesting
  
• managment in general is greatly improved, yet it doesn't feel in the way. It is well implemented in a you can play it very high level or you can dive in to the nitty gritty into what your city produces, ect.
  
• Seasons are neat, but mostly just aesthetic

There are issues still though:

• Night feels too dark to build in at times, and when that is half of the time in game, I some times find my self waiting for night to end to begin building again.
  
• No buildings conform to terrain so pre grading your new expansions is even more important than ever
  
• No cyclists? for why I do not know
  
• As mentioned before the game lacks diversity in looks. The european and North american structures do not look significantly different.
  
• Endless demand for sprawling suburbs, but it seems once you have access to high density you can get away with ignoring the low density housing demand.

All in all I enjoy the game and hope they fix the current issues so more people can.

CS2 matchmaking changes are garbo.

Pretty good game. Dev is consistently updating it. Has fun progression. Hope in future Levels get more diverse as currently every wave is the same except boss waves being slightly random.

I have no clue why people have review bombed this game so bad. As far as paradox games go this game is pretty enjoyable without dlcs and mods. Sure it has some issues but they have been pretty fast to put out patches and dev logs for fixing features. The gameplay loop can be a little repetitive currently as the focus is very much on building up your economy manually by building factories and such.
