Worth the wait.

It's in Quakes long shadow but it owns and dominates that space in ways that the nu-Boomshoots don't quite.
And it does that by being really freakin good.

This is definitely one to play gentlemen.

Well, I've almost finished my first playthrough of this at barely 2 hours.

First the good things:
The quality of this port is excellent. Nightdive has done an excellent job.
This is the BEST version of the game to play.

Now the bad:
The gameplay itself is completely mediocre, its nowhere near the creative highs of Turok 2 and barely has any of the energy that it had. And while I do get and understand the creative vision they were going for with T3- sure it pushed the N64- it still sucked back then and its not aged any better now despite the best effort of the teams at the time and Nightdives port.

It's very very short. Even when i do the second playthrough with Joshua I can see this whole experience being wrapped up in maybe even less than 5 hours at the end of it.

Do I recommend this?
It's a very tentative yes. I can only recommend this if you really want to close out the N64 Turok trilogy experience.
I'm glad I got it as I only ever got to play the original N64 release briefly at a friends house some 20+ years ago. For some reason when this game was released it was extremely difficult to find any copies of the game anywhere in the UK at the time. Finishing this trilogy was just one of those things for me.

Man. I stand by what I said.
Nightdives remaster is the best version of the game to play.
But the core game of Turok 3 is mediocre to outright bad. There were maybe one or two moments where the game was fun. And that's it.

It's an box ticked it off a personal list.

It's one of the best games ever made.

The Enhanced edition is also absolutely excellent.
Included in the Enhanced edition was the new expansion Dimension of the Machine, made by Machine Games. And I have gotta say that was some of the most fun I've ever had with Quake. Not a single dud-level among them.

24 hours poured into this and now onto the mods and community maps.
Simply one of the best games ever.

That moment "Washed In The Blood of The Lamb" starts playing...

Yeah.

You need to experience it.
I'm hooked for the ride now.

Possibly one of the best Boomer Shooters this year.

It's like a combination of Unreal and Turok with the slapstick tone of MDK and Duke Nukem in all the best ways.

One of the better more feature complete Boomer-Shooters.
It's awesome, the community levels are great and the game in general is solid as can be.

They've got something very special here and its been worth the wait.

I've had a fantastic time with this and can recommend it pretty easily.

Its short but its excellent.

For $3...Yeah this game is criminally good.

It's got all the qualities that makes me just know I'm going to have to uninstall it to save myself from it.

I don't know what I was expecting to find or experience with this game but after an hour or so of playing I regret it.

Imagine being beaten with a hammer that says "LAUGH NOW, HAHAH FUNNY BIDEO GAME AMIRITE" by a Video game executive going through a meth-phase in a midlife crisis, with a soundloop of Seth Rogan's laugh bass boosted to ear rape levels of noise with crappy punk music blaring away.

That's what playing Sunset Overdrive is like.

Since uninstalling the game however I felt its horrible pastiche try-hard veil of cringe fade away BUT it also removed something else from me. I feel both diminished yet relieved to have it gone.

Very pleasantly surprised with this.
Still terrible at Age of Empires are after all these years but that's not stopped me from enjoying the snot out of this series.

AoE4 has some very good ideas going for it and there's been an effort to make the civilisations as varied as they can be given the era it takes place. It feels like an Age of Empires game and if you've played anything from the previous games and or spin offs (Age of Mythology), you're going pick this up VERY quickly.
The campaign is kinda like a big interactive history documentary. A bit too hand-holdy for quite a few levels but its very nicely presented.

I just don't have the time too devote to games like I used to but wanted to leave an encouraging word for this game. It's very good and what I have played has left a good impression with me.
I can tell its one I'm going to enjoy playing on a less hectic days. Relic seems to have bonked its head and remembered how to make games again after the question mark of DoW3.
