Pretty solid game with a lot of depth to it. It has a huge learning curve to it but once you get the hang of it you can't put it down.

This game is worth the $35. After installing this game I really haven't played any other game since then. Every single game I start after failing the last one comes with new knowledge of how to things better. My current settlement has 13+ colonists, 6 dogs, 10 alpacas, 6 muffalos, and an ever growing problem of too many damn chickens. My advice? buy this game if you enjoyed prison architect, and produce 3x the hay you'll think you need for your animals.

If you don't buy the DLC, you can't get the weekly quests. so if you want to play this game, you are railroaded into buying the dlc in order to get the full game experience. Thats not consumer friendly.

7.5/10 for gameplay however. fix this issuse and I'll recommend this game.

If you were looking for a historically accurate game, this isn't it. It is an historically authentic game apparently. What that means is that even though most of the fighting force in any era was predominantly men, there is a 50-60% chance that your generals will be women. What would also to be considered historically authentic, is having the Mongol invasion begin in the British isles, even though they came from Mongolia historically.

10/10 on diversity training
8/10 on gameplay
0/10 with not keeping social justice ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥♥ from leaking into video games.

I played this game for 10 hours total. Just got into my first war. Outcome? Turns out it doesn't matter if you have bigger ships with more firepower and shields, you can just spam the first ship hull that's maxed out with crew destruction capabilities. 4 ships took out my crusier and destroyer and 6 Corvettes. This was the first beginner game you play to figure out your settings.

Otherwise it's great music and graphics. Watching the ship battles for me was satisfying.

This is also a very good show of progress with this game from the last one. I would buy again if it wasn't a waste of time to sink 10 hrs into a game and have your entire fleet be destroyed by an over powered mechanic.

Installed the game today and tried playing the game after a year or so its been in my library. start the launcher, update the patch, settings to max, run program. Now i have to create an account with another site in order to play this game. Can't close the game within the game itself, CTRL ALT DELETE and close it that way. Uninstall game. No thanks, ill skip this game.

I have played a few space games before this, but this game has to be one of the best space games i have ever played! Endless space has a similar concept in a lot of ways, making adjustments to ship designs and planet colonization is almost identical. however the combat mechanics were a bit weird for endless space and even if i primarily focused on weapon research and fleet build up, my fleets were vastly outnumbered and outgunned in every instance. That's why i stopped playing it. Stellaris has a better system and i don't feel insignificant anymore militarily speaking. in fact, i feel like i'm even with other races for military strength.

This game has a great in-game tutorial and it explains everything that you need to know and with humor. I found a ceramic pot floating in orbit around a star. I got the reference instantly and i almost fell of my chair in surprised laughter.

The customization of your race is AWESOME! it's very customizable and lets you decide what you want your race to be with a lot of freedom. Lots of different types of lifeforms with at least 10-15 different variants of each type of lifeform.

i've only played 11 hrs thus far within 2-3 days. i would have more logged in if i didn't have any stupid obligations like a full time career and a full time college to attend and a girlfriend who likes to hold hands or whatever.

in short. Awesome game in its first week of launch. However it would be better if i didn't have rent or other bills to pay so i could just stay inside and conquer the galaxy. if Paradox could fix this bug of having to pay rent every month... that would be great....

This game is simply awesome! I had trouble playing it the first couple times I created a new character. The combat is great and I can actually input my strategy into this game. It takes a bit to understand this game to its full extent, but when you do YOU SERIOUSLY CAN'T STOP PLAYING!!! I haven't played any other game in weeks. Its deeply rewarding even when you fail... and i have failed really hard. I was just rewarded with my very own city and I could not hold in my screams of joy. I seriously recomend this game to those who like strategy and roleplay.
