It's pretty good all in all

Great game for a good price and, while I know I haven't played as long as some people, Its one of the most fun and addictive games I've played as there seemed to be even more things to do and now that its in 1.0 and out of early access,
i can play with friends over steam, add mods easily, and enjoy it in a much improved state.

An update 5 years later! Still pretty solid for the price of $15 and can be a lot of fun in single or multiplayer. The story gets a bit tedious after the first play-through though and a way to skip it quickly to get to the vast sandbox would be nice. Most of the game can be played in one file however and the story being bland only arises after the third or fourth time through.

The game does also have a swath of content in the mods even just from the workshop and even more out there on the internet. That alone can make this game so much more than it already is.

At a bit below 600 hours in this game I'm not sure if it's a 10/10 like I gave before but it's certainly a solid 7/10 to even a 9/10 with the right mods installed. Good game that could use some updates to the story, sandbox, and more would be nice as it's mostly the same as those 5 years ago.

TL;DR: Worth the $15 if you like sandboxes in space, expect a mandatory story but enjoy the huge workshop at your disposal.
