TBH - I've picked up that game on Summer sale, quite cheap, thinking - dropped cards (yes, I'm a collector, guilty as charged ;) ) will pay for that anyway even if that is crap. But what do you know - while getting those drops I've actually started playing - and got so hooked it's not even funny!
That game stands next to Artist Colony, My Tribe, Gemini Lost, Wandering Willows (well, sort of), and Virtual Villagers (sans starving and otherwise meeting their demise villagers). If you ever played any of that - you will feel right at home from the very start. And yes - I've played all of those (and more).
Pluses: really nice appealing art, easy to learn, easy to master, there's no sensitive controls or time limits that you have to meet to progress further in game...
Minuses: if you are looking for high-octane action - that game is not for you. If you don't like resource management - that game is not for you. If you don't have patience for micromanaging and otherwise keeping track and ordering around 50 "loyal subjects" - you probably will not like it much (but I might be wrong).
Now if only they add Steam achievements to that... ;P

P.S. It took me 15 hrs to beat from start to finish - no skipping puzzles, no guides or tutorials, but not getting high scores in mini-game either. As for replay value - idk, not much challenge here for me... but still might get back to it some day.

Hehe. Let me know if you want company.

They added new furniture not long after I've done my showcase houses, haven't yet gotten round to adding the new stuff though. Pretty much first thing I did after that update was Minecart ride across half the map.

I wouldn't want to start building on a new world (tried it a few times, always lost interest, and there's projects on my first world that I continue now and then).

Took ages to get to Hardmode too. Didn't want my world corrupted, so I asked a friend to host a world where we and another friend each beat up WoF first thing (after a race to Hell - he with Drax I with Bombs, he won and I ran out of bombs anyway :) ) and mucked around a bit on it, then I got the world file from him and could get Hardmode stuff without messing up my world.

Now I've got almost everything (finally Hardmode too on my world) and just tend to build, dig, beat up Ice Queens. :) (Or WoF on another world, missing a bunch of Emblems and their upgrades.)

Problem with detail-oriented building OCD - I never got past mechanical hardmode bosses. Every time new patch adds more stuff to game - I have to build some new farm/house/whatever (and in a new world if it's a major update!), and do new things... Should probably try opposite approach for a change - just cram them all in dirt "apartments" and rush forward for Boss Fights!!!

Thanks. I noticed that you pay much more attention to detail than I tend to. I have some proper houses now, but mainly I stuff my Terraria NPC into cells for convenience. :)

Looking forward to what you'll have to say about Triple Town.

About Triple Town - I didn't play it properly yet, just idled. Thanks to wonderful program I've picked up on Steamgifts forum it can be done while I'm afk and even while sleeping. Though I'm looking forward to at least trying that game for real, 'cause I might actually like that one. From what I've read and saw in videos and screens - it's nice, but not exactly what you want. It's not a turn-based, more like RTS with those bears moving around. Though no fighting either - you have to "corner" them to get rid of.
As for other games - right now I can't for the life of me remember anything that would fit the requirements - everything either on timer or with units and fights. If I remember something later - I sure will post it. If anybody else read that and have something to add - please, feel free to do just that!

Hello to you too! Thank you for comments here and on screenshots, though mine don't come even close to your creations. I've looked around your profile - there are some wonderful screens you have there! :8bitheart:
My game list is huge, but a lot of that picked up from bundles and probably will not be played ever. Some games are played just (and only) for Playfire achievements/rewards and some are just idled for cards and then got on "never touch again" list. I should be ashamed of it, probably, idk... But I'm not. :B1: But yes - getting through that list would be a challenge already - and I can bet it will only be growing.

Hello fellow Card Collector. :)

I looked up the games you list and are mentioned in the comments here (as far I could find them on Steam and Mobygames) hoping it might hide just the game I'm looking for (I never heard of any of the titles mentioned).

Sadly, most seem Real Time or more aimed towards puzzle than building. I like puzzles, but not so much mixed with other genres.

I'm looking for a Turn Based Build game without fighting. More details on that on my profile: "The game I want doesn't exist."

Checking your profile page, it says 957 games, the day doesn't offer enough hours to dig through them! :) (But I see Terraria is your favorite too!)

It'd be nice if, in a bored moment, you could see if you remember any titles that might fit what I've been looking for for over a decade.

I see you recently played Triple Town. That's on my wishlist waiting for a sale, but I'm not sure if it fits what I want. Any comments?

Thank you. And nice review. :)

Yes, another one (I actually found it!) - Wild Tribe.
As for BF cost... yes, it really hurts - that's why I stopped playing there long time ago. But at some time (before Steam, and even before Maplestory got big) we had a subscription there - with 2 kids it was a nice way to get them playtime as rewards, and as I said - I was exploiting that "unlimited time" glitch myself, so it was fun and definitely worth the buck back then.

The one where you build the ship at the end, My Tribe does that. Probably other island games, too. Yes, Big Fish has a lot of the type of games that I like, but I don't like their costs. I know a lot of work is put into building these games, but when the play time is short (relatively speaking) it's just too hard to get myself to spend much on them. So I just sit and wait for Steam to put something on sale that looks good. Been some long waits! lol

btw - that's what I liked about Big Fish: you could have played any game for 1 hr absolutely free, so you can really tell if you like it or not (and for those games 1 hr is a lot). And I remember when it was "glitchy" and you could have played through the whole game 'till the very end - as long as you do it in one sitting withough getting out or switching windows... AH, good old times :coolthulhu:
