Review Showcase
I'm going to skip over all the issues with the developer and just review the game that I played, which was both the base game and Scorched Earth.

Pros:
- Satisfying crafting and building.
- Dinosaur taming that goes beyond simply having a cool looking mount. Dinosaurs have different abilities that assist with every aspect of your survival.
- The world feels mysterious and I felt immersed from the very beginning and the ominous obelisks floating in the distance fill me with a sense of forboding that I never quite shake, no matter how established my island becomes.
- There are a wide variety of settings for both private games and server hosting. The tools are only getting better too.
- The game itself looks good with surprisingly few graphical errors. I've heard that there are complaints, but I am able to run on max settings with a GTX 980 Ti, i7-5930K, and 16 GB of RAM. I haven't looked up hardware in awhile, but I know I'm behind a couple generations.
- For all the complaints about paid DLC, Scorched Earth actually brings a lot t the table with an enormous new map full of new enemies, new recipes, and new lore. I am currently awaiting the journal that will add story to the game in the form of notes created at certain areas like ruins.

Cons:
- Corpses will slide underneath objects occasionally. For example, I once killed a dodo only to watch it slide beneath a rock. Luckily, I was able to break the rock and get the bird underneath for that precious meat.
- Occasionally, there are issues with placing objects, but it's still much better than the building in Fallout 4, which I also enjoyed.
- You can run out of stuff to do in a hurry unless you like repeating. Leveling goes pretty quickly, and you'll eventually find yourself banking engram points to just spend as needed.

A lot of things are dependant on what server you're on. Alternate server settings and a plethora of mods ensure that no two servers will offer quite the same experience. This is both good and bad as a difficult server will make others seem boring, while an easier server will leave you ill-prepared for the real deal. This goes double if you move from an easy server to Scorched Earth.

Overall, it's a great game to play. Once again, I don't care what your issues are with the developers. It's still fun and it was worth what I paid for it. In the end, that's all I care about.
