I approached Dave the diver knowing very little of it, thinking it's another rogue lite with some basic business running in the background to get money for upgrades, and boy I was wrong. This game surprised me numerous times during my playthrough, especially considering the devs had time and will to make all of the cool features like for example suddenly turning the game into a visual novel or even a rythmic game with an anime opening playing in the background for a span of like 5 minutes, only to never use this feature again. It's hard to even talk about it without spoilering too much, as it's best to experience on your own, but it stays fresh up to the very end, as even the end credits are a minigame. A pleasant mix of a story, humor, references, minigames, really great soundtrack and a solid rogue lite core gameplay. It's undeniably one of the best games I've played in the past few years. I don't often get that feeling of money well spend on a videogame and well deserved by the devs like in this one.

Oh and by the way, do not try to upgrade every single dish to a maximum like I did. There are tons of them and it's impossible to do without heavy grind. Doesn't really benefit you in any way.

I'ts so expensive for a short game with no level editor or a workshop, and the developers decided to cut content with story telling, because apparently jumping off a ledge in VR (which I loved due to a funny feeling in my stomach) is far worse than suicide in their previous desktop game. I'm gonna have to crack this game with an earlier update just to enjoy it fully when I want to ever replay it. Listening to people who didn't really play this game (cause OMG THERE'S SUICIDE IN THIS GAME) was a good idea. Nobody liked that.

AI is a complete rubbish.
Oh, there are two or three heavily armed enemy police officers, and I only have a pistol as a bandit. How about running at their positions and absolutely obliterating everything I can see, or shooting through walls directly at them?
On the other hand, the civilians.
I'm a gas station employee, I got shot with rubber bullets around 15 times, I've got sprayed with tear gas, shocked with taser, blinded by a flashbang, but when I hear "Put your hands up" for the fkin 10th time, all I'm gonna do is yell "No, I won't", and run to the room full of terrorists, so they have easier job killing my saviors. And if you try to punch this guy with melee attack you get penalty for unauthorized force usage ???????
I'm a hardcore player, I always try to finish the game at max difficulty, I loved Swat 4, but in current state, I regret spending money on Ready Or Not, because this game's AI behaviour is too random to be enjoyed.
Hope it gets better in the future, so I can adjust my review and get a little bit of fun from this game.
