Absolutely incredible game. The 3 different difficulty modes offer a nice variety of challenge and basically every part of the game is finely crafted and well tuned. The graphics and soundtrack are spectacular and the gameplay feels exhilarating without being too difficult to pick up and learn.

10/10 absolutely get

Pretty decent program, has a lot missing though, and can seemingly softlock easily. Useful for various things, but the lack of features like undo harm it a lot at the current time.

Tl;DR: 9/10 feels like an amazing megaman loveletter to fans that may take some extra getting used to before you're ready to dive into superhero mode

EDIT: I replayed on casual mode (the one below normal) And things felt much better, much more like a standard megaman game. Bumping rating up to 8.5 based on the ability to really feel the difficulty change and friendliness to those rusty at megaman or just plain bad like myself

EDIT 2: After more playtime, i completed the game on superhero. it took a fair bit of getting used to but it's nowhere near as bad as it seemed when i first wrote this review.

from what i've played so far, i'm semi dissapointed by the change in how difficulty is applied. unlike the old games where it'd be about raw challenge, in this game it's as much guesswork as anything else. The stages themselves are beautiful and offer good challenge in the old style (besides tundra man, the ice physics can sometimes work in ways you wouldn't think or expect), but the bosses are pure guesswork. There's no telegraph or time to dodge certain attacks like there used to be and the new double gear system feels like it's trying to force you to use it, when in reality it does little to help (speed gear slows megaman down as well as the projectiles, to a janky degree). I do highly recommend this game if you can handle the frustration of a regular megaman game kicked up a notch because the graphics, the stages and the music are to die for. I've asked around a few of my mates agree so i'm not 100% delusional, but it might just be us being blind to patterns and tells, but it's difficulty that feels forced and artificial in fights.

Game crashes whenever a match is started. Follow the instructions on the "what to do if shellshock live crashes" page and e-mail the developer as well as add him as a friend. He denied the friend request and i haven't heard back since. This was roughly a week ago.

In it's current state, not worth it seeing as the dev doesn't seem to care about the people who have problems with the game, and all this i'm hearing about a cheat ruler makes it worse.

23/06 edit: I've still heard nothing back and have had no luck in my other attempts to contact the developer.
