Everything about this just feels right on the money. From the pixel art, to the voice acting, to the general vibe and aesthetic. Really lovely stuff.

Really enjoyed that. Well worth the small price of £3.39.

⚙️ Gameplay: (10/10)
DTD is well balanced with an incredible amount of content, all of which feels fresh and unique, and is introduced periodically throughout the game so it never feels overwhelming. And as long as you're the type of player that likes to explore then the grind is pretty much non-existent (maybe a few hours towards the end if you're hunting for all trophies).

🎨 Graphics: (9/10)
Glorious pixel art crafted from vibrant colour palette. Loses 1 mark for a v-sync issue (which I found easily ignorable).

🔊 Sound: (10/10)
Very cosy, especially under water. Maybe repetitive in places, but never annoying. Hot Pepper Tuna slaps 🔥

🚀 Innovation: (9/10)
Clearly takes inspiration from many other games out there, but the way it's been put together in this single package makes stand out in it's own right

🌐 Multiplayer: (10/10)
Literally non-existent. Perfect.

📖 Storyline: (8/10)
The characters are interesting and well written, but I wasn't always engaged with it. I found myself skipping some of the dialog, more so towards the mid/end game.

🌍 World Design: (8/10)
Traversing the world is more enjoyable that I thought it might have been thanks to how well the game is balanced and various QOL unlockables as the game progresses. There's a few places where you might get lost and be doubling back and yourself, but those are far and few between.

🕹️ Controls: (9/10)
Plays great on KBM and controller. I can see why they're releasing a patch for the button mashing mechanic, but personally, I didn't mind it.

🔁 Replayability: (10/10)

Cracking game with one of my favourite OSTs ever. The puzzles are well designed and challenging but never push to the point of frustration. I've come back to this after a 6 or so year break to finish the DLC after seeing the announcement for TTP2! The only negative I can draw from this game is that most of the lore is stuffed inside a computer that you interact with in game, a lot of which is drivel. It would be nice if the game could induced a sense of wonder and mystery through natural exploration of the world.

It takes a lot of convincing for me to invest in any AAA title of this size, but my god it was worth it. Horizon Zero Dawn left a lasting impression.

This is one of those games that may be worth delaying progression through the main story, if you don't want to run the risk of losing interest upon completion of the final mission. Even finding all the collectable's can be fun, mainly because the tedious ones that are hidden from the map don't count towards 100% completion! 😁

My only gripes, which don't have much of an impact on my overall experience, would be:
- Poorly optimised for PC. I purposefully sacrificed frames to have a better graphical experience (worth it)
- Weird NPC audio, where if you're some distance from the character it'd be impossible to tell which direction the audio is coming from, and they'd often sound just as loud when you're next to them as when you're say 100 metres away from them
- Not much range with the facial expression, all the models look like they've had about 50 botox injections
- The game is well balanced, but be careful of levelling up too fast too early on, as it does make some missions slightly easier than they should be
- Hilariously unconvincing death animations/acting!

Overall I'd give this a solid 9/10. Probably a 10 if it weren't for all of the above. Would recommend 👍
