I worked the ketchup-to-pickle grift for years back in the early 80s. You ask for a burger with no ketchup. You take it out to your car, remove the pickles, then slather the thing with some ketchup that you brought with you. Finally, go inside and demand a refund, triumphantly holding out the ketchup-flooded burger. The thing is they never check to make sure the pickles are still on it! I guess they don't even notice, or assume the pickles are buried under the half-cup of ketchup. You can make about 3/4 of a cent per pickle if you sell them in bulk, so this is a good scam if you have a lot of ketchup lying around for some reason.
