Necesse is your fairly typical 2D survival/crafting game, so fans of the genre will fall right into it's game play easily. But what stands out for me is the little quality of life features such as being able to craft using items that you have stored within range of the crafting stations. Though it isn't redefining the genre, it is a great representation of it and I can say without hesitation you should buy it.

Better than the first one.... and the first one was awesome. It conjures up memories of the pre-mission planning phase from the first Rainbow Six.

I know Warlords hasn't gotten the same love that the earliest titles in the series have received, but at the heart of Warlords the Stronghold DNA is present. There is no mistaking this is a Stronghold title, I get the same rush of fun playing this as I do playing Stronghold Crusader or Stronghold Legends. So if you like any of the previous Stronghold titles, then you will enjoy Warlords.

I bought this game years ago and though I found it interesting the lack of content and empty open environment made it become boring quickly. The building mechanic was fairly fleshed out and gave you a bunch of things to build but with there being no real purpose to even build that too became boring quickly. When no updates arrived after the months and years went by, I assumed it was abandoned so I eventually shelved it and moved on to other games. Then just for kicks I checked in on the game recently and was very surprised to see not only had it not been abandoned it had been updated quite a lot and was currently being moved over to a new engine! Which is where I am at now, I am at this moment installing the new engine BETA and I'm excited to see where the developer is taking this game.

Calling this a game is a stretch.
You start in a mine of some sort where you pick the game options and such, then when you start the "game" you are in a dome with a laser that you use to kill waves of enemies........that never ever stop coming....ever, and that is the "game". I killed waves of enemies waiting to do the supposed mining part and there is no mining part, you just move the dreadfully slow laser back and forth very slowly killing enemies until you can no longer stand it and then you exit the "game" and come write a review warning people to not bother with this "game"

The Marshall Space Flight Center located in Huntsville Alabama sits on the north bank of the Tennessee River as part of the United States military's Redstone Arsenal. I was born, raised, and continue to live on the southern bank of the Tennessee River directly across the river from the Marshall Space Flight Center. Living in a very rural area of Alabama surrounded by cow pastures and the wilderness of the Appalachian foothills on three sides and a mighty river on the other while simultaneously witnessing and experiencing the sights and VERY loud sounds of our nations largest most powerful rockets on a near daily basis created a love for all things Space Program in me at a very young age.
While the frequent test firing of rockets was done a few miles away and hidden from view, the sheer amount of power unleashed in those short burst of rocket fire was impossible to miss. A quite peaceful day with only the sounds of birds, cattle, and the soft breeze would suddenly be filled with a sound so loud and powerful that the earth beneath your feet would reverberate and shake as though it was an earthquake and every window for miles would rattle and on occasion shatter from the violence of a single firing rocket. Watching those from out of town become wide eyed and panicked at the unexpected shattering of the peace was practically a local pastime. I can recall many a time while fishing on the backwaters and swamps of the river with my dad watching the surface of the water turn from that of glass to something akin to boiling water as the vibrations from the rockets moved across the creek. So even if you had no interest in the space program, you certainly could never forget it's existence while growing up in the valley I call home.
That constant reminder only further fueled my obsession with all things space and space travel, and combined with many school field trips and Boy Scout outings into Huntsville to visit the incredible Space & Rocket Center made for many nights lying on my back staring far into the easily visible center of our Milky Way galaxy thanks to little to virtually zero light pollution pondering not only the many wonders of human space travel but also my place within this magnificent universe.
Why do I wax poetically about my life in the shadow of giant rockets in this game review? Because playing Kerbal Space Program stirs those exact same feelings of wonderment and excitement in me as those rockets shaking the ground beneath my feet as a child did. If you have even a passing interest in space, astronomy, space flight, space programs, or rocketry, then do yourself the favor of getting Kerbal Space Program now, you will not regret the purchase and will chastise yourself for not getting it sooner. It's a disservice to call KSP a game or even a simulator, it's so much more than both, it's an incredible experience that has enriched my life and i'm a better person for having it.
I apologize if I have undersold the greatness of KSP........

Starbound scratches that "Terraria" itch, and does it in a much more "open" and "vast" way. It has a larger scale than most games of this type, which gives it a grand scope. Your required to explore multiple planets in search of resources which you then use to upgrade certain aspects of your equipment, and spaceship. You'll be upgrading your personal ship as a way to explore more dangerous and violent planets in a "Metroidvania" sort of progression across the cosmos. I personally enjoy Starbound thoroughly and any fan of the Minecraft, Terraria, or Crea type game, will also certainly find much to enjoy with Starbound.

This game is terrible!!! Why didnt someone tell me?!?!?

No. seriously,
I've been a fan of the Stronghold series ever since buying Stronghold 1 at its original release. I loved the combat, economy, strategy, and building aspects of the original, and each successive Stronghold release was an improvement over its predecessor.
I missed the initial release of Stronhold 3 due to raising two daughters that prefered playing "Smash" and "Kart" console games with their dad instead of my "old people" games on PC. And although I had not played 3, I had read the reviews and heard the reactions, and was very aware of the negativity surrounding it, but it just didnt seem possible. A Stronghold game that was not only dissapointing to the series, but possibly the worst game to be released that year. It was unthinkable to me, and I would not believe it until I played it myself.
That day came not long after creating my Steam account. After finding the Stronghold 3 store page, I was instantly taken aback at the bright red thumbs down sitting in its info box and the feeling of "any hope that 3 wasnt that bad" slowly left me. It only took a few minutes into the first mission that I finally accepted the truth, Stronghold 3 is a terrible game.
I cant recommend Stronghold 3 to my fellow gamers. If you find it on sale for $3.00 or less, then maybe, but only if you are a fan of the series. If you've never played any games in the series, then I suggest starting with any of the prior Stronghold games, as each is an excellent example of what is great about PC gaming and well deserving of all the praise they have received.
I personally feel Legends is the pinnacle of the series at this point, but Im holding out hope that someday we will see "Stronghold 4 coming soon" in our news feed and that it will make us forget about the travesty known as Stronghold 3.
