Launch the game to the first splash, where you can exit, play, or configure your game. Go into configure and either on top or bottom, Go to Language set it to "English" (not Auto). Also just next to that it says "Platform to play on" or something similar. The choices are "Gamespy" and "Steam". Make sure "Steam"is selected and try again.
