The use and recruitment of children within armed forces and armed groups has been a wide focus of international attention and widely condemned (UNICEF, 2007). The placement of children close to or directly in the face of harms way is a direct violation of the child’s rights and as such has a major impact on their quality of life whether that be physical harm to death or issues with integration back into society and finding acceptance within their community. This report argues that the recruitment of children into armed forces in Cambodia is a gross violation of their rights. The report will also give 4 key recommendations to assist combating these violations.
