TL;DR
Things that you will say - "♥♥♥♥♥♥♥♥♥, did you see that!? ♥♥♥♥ that! CAROL JOHNSON CAROL JOHNSON CAROL JOHNSON!"

After almost 60 hours in the game and mostly playing multiplayer with friends and some single player here and here, the game is worth it if you have a couple of friends who are wanting a little scare here and there. There are public lobbies, but I have never ventured that far into multiplayer.

Allegedly future DLC for the game will be free content updates per head dev in a quasi-developer-content creator video.

Pros:
  • You get to be the Ghost Bro of your dreams, like Bak Zagans.
  • Horror 2.0 allegedly will be coming out for Halloween update.
  • Great team building exercise.
  • Good, cooperative gameplay.
  • Monthly updates now with more content previously.
  • Each haunt is a different ride, depending on the RNG of the game.
  • Feels great to have money to spend on gear.
  • Ambiance is awesome.
  • General good creepy vibe & fun jump scares that catch experts off guard sometimes.

Cons:
  • Intimidating Singleplayer until you know the mechanics.
  • Game is extremely easy once you know the mechanics.
  • Difficulty is really in the RNG on the bigger maps (HS, Prison and Asylum), with Asylum taking upwards to an hour to complete if you cannot find the ghost room.
  • Levels and Money does not mean a thing once you hit a certain level. This will change in the future as we will be able to upgrade equipment [per Dev Trello].
  • Gameplay gets repetitive once you are really experienced with the game.

Do you fear timber? You will.
Do you have friends? You won't.
They cut the tree down on you.
It's their fault, but revenge is a beech.

If you are a fan of strategy games, It is a complete diservice to you if you have not gotten to sitdown and play Forged Alliance. While the game does not support multi-core, it was a flaw when the game was made and no one has the source code to change this, a community has worked tirelessly to get the game working as best as possible: Forged Alliance Forever.

Worth a play and with Forged Alliance Forever, you can easily see yourself spending at least 50+ hours learning all of the races and discovering new mods and maps to play on.
