The game is a very average 5/10. Just about every puzzle boils down to some note in the room you're in telling you exactly what to do. The exploration feels clunky, prepare to rub your face on walls to find things. I also hope you're not vision impaired because there are so many traps that just blend into the background. I find the story, dialogue and the notes to be very bland. I've been playing survival horror games since I was a kid on the PS1 and this just doesn't quite hit the mark for me. I appreciate the effort and love the devs put into this game and shining a light on this genre for the younger generation. I still think the majority of people interested in this game will like it. If I could give this game a neutral review I would but I'm going to give it a negative review just so those who are sorting by negative can read this.

I played 15 minutes of this after hearing lots of praise and I am immediately put off. The controls were obviously built for controller and they felt super off. Felt like there was also some mouse acceleration. To top it all off the audio is probably the worst I've heard in any video game every. I feel as if there were no people on the coding team who knew how to implement audio or have ever worked with it. One of the most basic things you learn is that a volume slider shouldn't be linear but logarithmic and they failed that. I think it's exponential if anything, 0 is muted and everything from 1 to 100 is super loud.

The game is horribly optimised at the moment, launching with DX11 by adding "dx11" to your launch arguments makes the game run so much better.

This is what a remake should be. I was fearing the worst when I saw the trailers and teasers but this blew me away. The game looks great, sounds great and plays great. The voice actors did an amazing job and I love the nods to the original all through out the game. I've seen people criticise this game by saying things like the cinematography is inferior and the subtle story telling is worse. While I agree that some things feel a bit too on the nose now, I think they did a great job with the cinematography. Personally I think the people that nitpick this remake to death and say that the original is millions of times better are redditors who aren't actual Silent Hill fans and probably weren't fans of Silent Hill in the early days. Having played the original Silent Hill 2 on the PS2 in the 2000s, having massive nostalgia for it, and with the original being one of my favourite games of all time, I think this remake is well worth it and lives up to the original.

My biggest gripes with this game is that it's a little bit too action oriented, Maria doesn't wear her iconic outfit, the original Theme of Laura isn't in the game and (spoilers) you can't use the great knife as a weapon.

Very fun game, only gripe is the viability of strategies that aren't flush, straight or high card.

Talk about a half baked game, this has very little content at the moment. I remember when Amplitude used to release bangers. Anyway Endless Legend 2 please.
