Great game, enjoyed the short time I've played so far. If you intend on playing this, keep in mind it's age - If you're the kind of person who plays GW2 and can't bear to play without action camera (locked mouse) on, then research into the controls of this game - it may not be for you.

I was initially confused about the different games/expansions, so to those also confused here is what I know:
(please correct me if anything is wrong)

The 'Prophecies' campaign is the core game, and only has the name to differ from the others.

'Factions' and 'Nightfall' are their own games, you create new characters to specifically play that campaign and it's content (and of course cannot bring old characters to that content). The Guild Wars: Trilogy comes with these three campaigns

Guild Wars: Eye of the North is the only one that is an actual 'traditional' expansion, and is intended for max level characters. THIS DOES NOT COME WITH THE TRILOGY.

Fun game (much better with friends, preferably 3 others), but could be considered pay to win...

The way the game handles purchasing characters is that original characters can be bought with Auric Cells (premium currency, ~1,000 for £8 from memory) OR iridescent shards (from leveling up). Characters are 500 cells or 9,000 shards, unless they're on the older side (which is alot of them!) where the price is halved, sometimes quartered.

*however*

Licensed characters from horror films/games/etc that were not made by BHVR themselves CANNOT be bought with shards - you must pay real money in one way or another to get these characters (Lara Croft, Michael Myers, etc...) and some of these characters have really good perks.

The only way around this is through the shrine of secrets: this resets weekly and offers 2 killer and 2 survivor perks to unlock for your account at 2,000 iridescent shards, the problem being that specific perks may not show up in the shrine for a long time...

TL:DR, you can get half decent perks for free, more with patience (shrine of secrets) but you have more options if you spend money.

A truly charming game with great combat, fantastic art and a decent story with roughly 100 hours of content, if not more.

The one thing that puts me off the game as a whole is that it can occasionally feel a little childish, and this specific version is quite pricey for a game with limited content (If you have a PS3, consider buying a 2nd hand disc to play this instead)

Beautiful game, insane amount of options, endings and plenty of reason to replay. Highly recommended, feels like a movie.

Great story, lots of side content. Expeditions are really fun in singleplayer, but in my experience are painful and unplayable with a friend. There are lots of co-op achievements so have fun with those...

Decent. Never played the board game so I can't say how accurate it is.
