Epic game I have spent many hours in. Came back to try Island bound, left disappointed.

Got a good prison running after many workarounds. Cell grading has been improved from previous review. Logistics problems with janitors and gardeners hiding in closets having seizures. Realizing an island full of crazes is not feasible if you want to operate rooms like mail, laundry, workshop, or carpentry because you cannot assign staff or crazies to these rooms.

Overall the bugs and lack of attention to detail from paradox has eroded a great game. Thanks for the memories. I give it a diminishing thumbs up.

bug I hit ...

Classic game I grew up with. While I am glad it still exist, it is now difficult to play with friends. We did get a local LAN game going despite the onslaught of duplicated form fields (that never went away). After some fancy tabbing work we managed 3 matches and then quit. Its a good example of games that have not aged well.

Game has improved since my first review. The addition of eggs is interesting and the use of organic material and minerals to enhance them is better that the implementation of living ships. Creating a living ship did not feel like an organic process. Meet strange alien in space then its a mix of time sinks and ingredients put into a machine and the resulting full size living ship is produced from a mechanical device. Organic ship upgrades are found by randomly jumping to nowhere which does not feel organic.

Inventory management is still 80% of everything you do and just sucks the fun out of the game. Though they have streamlined access distant inventories like freighter once you can afford the upgrade. This still wont grant access to your storage containers on the freighter just the main inventory. Multiplayer has minor issues and I had to edit a save file to reset a stuck quest.

So dissapointed. Been looking for a multiplayer with a tactical map but for some reason the devs disabled the tactcal map in multiplayer. Atleast make it optional! Requested a refund. Button click fight done not worth it even on sale for MP use.

Early Access Review
Add 300+ hours to the total played as I owned this before its arrival on steam. This is my go to game for some humorous fun. The variation in biomes is excellent. Extreme cold did mean crossing some lines of food choices. Prisoners in these environments should be more co-operative for their own benefit!

There are relationships and pets, friends and enemy’s so plenty of dynamics. I’ve had hilarious adventures like starting a new colony with 1 guy, his lover and his ex-wife … (Only his ex-wife could shoot!).

One tip for survival is an old video of mine about freezers! Having a stockpile will save your life and your animals!

I think there should be a gun safety classroom … you will understand soon! My husband tries to save their lives I work on survival of the fittest principle. Unfortunately the mortar’s are so safe they rarely hit anything!

No real tutorial but there are tons of you tube videos. Despite this the game is completely playable and has deep content crafting even though listed as Early Access. The best part is they continue to add more great stuff. This one ranks up there as one of my all-time favorite early access development success stories. Good work guys!

For those having trouble ... let them die, learn from their death and then make a nice statue and a hat to remember them by.

Fans of Gnomoria and Prison Architect should give it a go!

The Good:
Star Trek Online is a free to play game where you can compete at the highest levels with no cash investment. Purchasing items from the store help's support the game, however this is one of a few MMO's where those with money are not left totally behind.

A lengthy story line is included that you can complete solo by filling the rest of your team positions with your bridge officers. Alternatively you can team up with friends and enjoy the experience together. The game contains a rich mix of ground and space missions in both the story line and the Special Task Force (STF) missions. There are also Zones such as Defari, Romulas, Voth and Nukara Prime where you can land planet side and complete a variety of missions. The developers are constantly adding new content, regions and special events. Anything can happen from free ships, a vacation to Risa or a visit from christmas Q.

Once you have reached max level there is the repuutation system to earn further bonuses and equipment. Plus Elite STF missions to test you.

The Bad:
Star Trek Online experience lag when servers are heavily. The interface and options are overwhelming so is the depth of charecter customisation and training. Bugs do exist and most have work arounds, this is not uncommon in a sofware upgraded over so many years.

Summary:
STO overall for a free to play is robust and has held my interest as a long term game. Main factors in this are the customization you can make to ship and crew and the changing content. We recommend you give the game a try.

Still one of my favorite games. upgrade choices are a little limited on 3rd or 4th play of the game. Overall a nice mix galaxy exploration and mission without to much messing about.

A solid game, supurb quality. Deserves 'Game of the Year'. As Dragonborn the world is yours to wander interacting with a delicious range of caracters you will love or love to hate. At $60 USD brand new other games should price themselves in comparrision to the quality of this game and how ready for market it was. Only a few bugs most well documented by the community on how to fix or bypass but nothing that detracts from the overall quality. Congratulation Bethesda on a refreshing inspiring release.

Additional note about the vast amount of mod content. Its wonderful to see so many creators releasing some excellent content easily installed via the workshop. However some of this content can add stability issues.
