I absolutely love this game. It's a survival city builder on Mars, with all the nuances and caveats you'd expect. The base game is solid, there's a decent amount of depth with a great tech tree and plenty of challenges. The soundtrack is absolutely fantastic, I listen to it regularly still! You colonize Mars while fighting the elements. You can send rare metals back and use the cash to purchase aid from Earth to help when things get dicey. The colonists have needs and wants and ignoring those will cause them to break under the pressure of leaving their home planet. They're surviving on an alien world with strangers away from every thing and person they've ever known, while everything tries to kill them. Not exactly a walk in the park. There are also several stories that can happen during your playthrough and they each provide a different challenge and reward, generating a bit of extra replayabillity. The Green Planet DLC really takes the game to the next level. Terraforming Mars is a fantastic endeavor and watching the red planet slowly become the green planet was a genuine treat. I'd suggest this if you're a sci-fi city builder fan, this scratches all the right places. At the Steam Summer Sale price, it's a steal.
