Early Access Review
Good game. Intense and realistic. However, I really can not recommend it in its current state. The more you play you will notice performance and network issues. Overall, fun game but needs more work and optimisation, definitely worth the buy to support the defs and game development, if they keep the updates rolling this could be golden. Keep in mind it is early access so i can not give it a bad review, i do see big potential. i`ll check back in a few months.

I like to chill and get immersed in a game's atmosphere and love survival aspects, that's the ideal game, for me. I'm playing this single player.

Five comparable titles I rate:

1) Rust - PvE style.
2) Ark - PvE style.
3) The Long Dark - Those blizzards.
4) Conan Exiles - The huge content, the constant threat.
5) Sons of The Forrest - a Serious contender.

I've Played the Forest, Rust , Stranded Deep, the raft... and plenty of lesser knowns and other variants on the open world survival theme but the above five... 'instant no-lifers'

I'd put this up there with the best of them. It's a very well made, well considered survival game taking a refreshing approach to many of the more common issues compromising games in this genre. I would say, if you haven't played the other 5 on that list, take a look there too.

ICARUS stands out even in that group; Maintaining a persistent threat level and challenge during the 'daily grind' of feeding your character and your tames, don't forget these storms that can blow your house away or even watch your base or the forrest burn to the ground if you are not careful etc. This game is pretty well balanced and satisfying on those PvE terms.

I would suggest getting the "New Frontiers" dlc for the best experience.

But I would walk five hundred miles
And I would walk five hundred more
Just to be the man who walked a thousand miles
To get shot down at your door
Just to walk five hundred more
And bleed out on some floor.

This game is great for those like myself who enjoy ARPG's games solo or with friends. Pros and Cons I'll list below, but overall POE is a 10/10 thanks to its excellent game design and replayability and its unique ARPG world that stands on its own.

Pros =
1. Addictive game design and gameplay loop
2. Incredible build variety
3. Deep character development
4. Unique and interesting world with great lore
5. Fun as hell to play

Cons -
1. Requires a good amount of farming to get best gear (which is normal in ARPG's)
2. Addictive game

Overall POE is a must play if you are a fan of ARPG's and a great game to play if you ever wanted to try to Genre. This is easily one of the best ARPG's ever made and I could honestly write an essay on why this game is so good and its FREE!!!
