William Shakespeare’s play, Macbeth, is a tragedy set in Scotland 1606 in which the prominent character Macbeth is featured. Shakespeare amplifies the psychological and physical effects that are formed by greed of political power. Macbeth’s fatal flaw, his hunger to be superior, leads to his downfall. This is brought to life when Macbeth meets a trio of witches who bestow a prophecy manipulating Macbeth's thoughts on life, assuring him that someday he will become king. His obsession for more power combined with the witches prophecies drove Macbeth to kill Duncan; the King of Scotland.
