This is a great game; however, I wouldn't tell people to buy it. I would either wait for a sale or when the game is more fleshed out. This game, as of right now, is technically early access, as many had said, but it isn't stated. From what I know, the reason for that is that the publishers wanted to publish this game as a full game. Knowing that, I'm not gonna complain about it, as devs can only do so much against their publisher. With all that said, since this game is technically an early-access, there is much development to be done, and from what I've seen from the devs these last couple of weeks, I can trust them to make this game a great game that people will love.

Despite being a lover of Paradox games who bought all DLCs for all the Paradox games I own, Victoria 3 at the though wasn't as bad as Imperator Rome at the start, this game lacks a lot of flavor. From what I've experienced after a half a run as Germany and a full run as Japan. I have somethings to say.

There are no flavors/events in the game. You get some events now and then but it's nothing special however those events are just general economic or political events, nothing historical like WW1. TWW1 was such a huge event yet there was no event that had nothing to do with it. WW1 affected the economies of nations all around the world and yet in the game, not a single effect happened in game to show such an event had happened.

Warfare in this game is very lack luster and I mean VERY. To sum it up, you build barracks to build your army and higher a general to lead that said army. Then you would pick a front for him to lead. Now this is where it gets stupid. You fight one battle at a time which makes the war awful to watch and when a battle happens, you're entire army isn't fighting. From what I've learned, how the amount of soldiers that fight in the battle is through a DICE ROLL. For example. You sent in an army 50 to the western front and the AI to combat that sent the same amount. You roll and gets a 10 while the AI gets a 20. Well now half of your army just took a break and gone fishing while the other half went off to battle to face 50 soldiers. Like WTF? This even applies to naval invasions. You get an awful role and hey look at that only one guy on the boats to invade Britain, RIP that one guy that cares to win the damn war, I have so much to say but to sum it up WARFARE IS AWFUL

Now diplomacy is very lackluster from what I've played. You build up relation with a nation and hope to god you can ally them so that you can not get eaten up by a strong nation. Another thing would be to make a trade agreement which is something you won't need late game if you become wealthy enough and build a lot of govt offices and that about it .

Now building the economy of the nation where Paradox did focus on worked fine. It wasn't hard to learn . You had to build of buildings at a steady pace so that you keep your market at a balance where things aren't too expensive. Now this is where most of the gameplay happens which is very lacking and not fun making the repeatability of the non existent since it's gonna be the same thing over and over again. The difference is just the starting you have depending of a nation.

Honestly, I would have to rate this game a 5/10. The game looks beautiful and I can the work the devs did put into this game, however I feel like this skipped a lot of things in this game as well. Warfare being a huge thing they skipped. I honestly wouldn't mind this game being taken off steam and have paradox work on the game once again. Adding in the missing mechanics that people want.

With the small amount of time hours I have playing The Iron Oath, I must say that I enjoy this game very much. If you have played games like this such as Battle Brothers albeit Battle Brothers is more brutal compared to Iron Oath and has no class system it does bring the tactical mind that you need to play it. Iron Oath also bring in a class system that gives your mercenaries unique abilities that you would use to your advantage in defeating your enemies in brutal combat. This game just came out so there is much to change and hopefully the changes would be for the better of the game. All in all this game is pretty good and if your a Turn-Based strategy with RPG elements player, this game is up your alley.

This is a great game to play due to its great space battle animation and theres a lot of events that can mess up your game. the only thing im having issues which is the same as others is the pending glitch which happened to me multiple times and when i try to load back to the save point i had before the glitch it wouldnt load. so if you guys could fix that glitch it would make the game soo much more enjoyable rather than stressful due to the fact that if the glitch happens and you cant go back to it you have to restart all over again. all that progress.....
