This was a challenging and fun game. Reminiscent of The Roottrees, Obra Dinn, etc. There's little hand-holding involved, and the deductions make sense. Would recommend.

I liked this game a great deal. Thought there'd translation issues because of the leading review, but I didn't encounter anything of the sort, presumably because they've improved the localisation sometime recently.

The deductions are all reasonably reachable. Puzzles don't shy away from being challenging, which is refreshing, but a small percentage of them are slightly vague. If you're not a fan of guessing your way out occasionally, there's a rather helpful hint system to get you out of those situations.

The story is well put together, and you get attached to the characters and want to know more about their stories as you play. That's pretty much the crux of a well-told story. I did feel like some things could be improved on, especially the fact that Ben Clark does not get good closure.

The art is pretty damn good. Characters are expressive, assets like evidence are quite detailed, and the backgrounds are gorgeous. There were few minor shader errors and graphical glitches that aren't noticeable enough to take away from immersion.

This game is lovely, and is as satisfying to unravel as the likes of Obra Dinn, No Case Should Remain Unsolved, the two Golden Idol games, etc, but it also adds some really charming and hilarious elements, all in a nostalgic setting.

A collection of short, well-designed puzzles that are satisfying to solve, with new gimmicks introduced in each world to keep the solving process fresh and fun. Puzzle goals are made clear and are always logically reachable without much trial and error, if at all.

All puzzles have obviously had a lot of effort put into them, with "tutorial" puzzles being effective at introducing new mechanics and subsequent puzzles being very comprehensive in covering all the ways these simple mechanics can be exploited.

There is a particular moment in the game that I was pleasantly surprised by, and put a smile on my face.

Overall a quality puzzle game. Highly recommend. 9/10.

Charming, fully voice-acted dialogue that's never uninteresting. Tightly written plot with a satisfying finish, supported by great art and music.

I love this game. Please make another one. It's a 9/10.

While the premise draws heavily from Professor Layton vs Phoenix Wright and Dual Destinies, this game does almost everything better and more.

The narrative is tighter.
The story is more gripping.
The characters are more endearing and memorable.
Their interpersonal relationships are more developed.
The world-building is more comprehensive.
The cases are more logically sound.
The prompts are always reachable with solid deduction and little guesswork.
The humor never misses and dialogue is always genuine.
The plot twists and turnabouts are enjoyable to come to.
The character art is great, the backgrounds are amazing.
The music is fantastic.
Not a single character in this game, major or minor, is tiring to listen to or makes me groan when I see them pop up on screen. The same cannot be said for the AA games.

This game isn't perfect though, I would've loved to see magic/arcane tools being used in the investigation more, the concept of detect magic is fantastic. Since it's a small team working on this game it's understandable, but I would've liked to see more breadth when it comes to character interactions, such as presenting certain pieces of evidence to certain people.

The biggest flaw about this game is that it doesn't have a sequel.
