This game has a somewhat steep learning curve, but if you're willing to actually read tooltips and interact with the item system, it turns into a very rewarding game. It tests your ability to plan ahead and to manage an inventory without feeling oppressive, and losing matches is not incredibly disheartening as you still get plenty reward. Earning characters doesn't feel as slow as many other games, and the characters they start you off with (Jackie and Aya) are all you ever need to play just fine. All in all, a very nice way to kill an hour or two, and even to get more serious about.
