What a wonderful game this was, the engaging characters and the beautiful atmosphere, I don't regret playing this game at all.

I've been having a rough time irl and this game helped me distract myself from it, the irony that Henry is basically doing the same thing. Thank you Firewatch <3

Early Access Review
Should I get this game if I don't like using voice chat? The answer is mostly no...

The game heavily relies on using voice chat and many lobbies contain people that want you to use voice chat or else you get kicked out. If you manage to find a lobby with people that don't mind you don't use voice chat, then you encounter another problem, which is that you will struggle to communicate with your teammates and the chat is hardly noticeable, so you might get ignored.

You could play alone, but the game is unforgiving and not meant to be played alone, so you might struggle and you won't get as much replayability as you would playing with people. If your friends are okay with you not using voice chat, then you could give it a go. But if you wanna play with random people and you don't wanna use voice chat, then I wouldn't recommend this game, unless you're fine with joining every lobby in hopes one of them won't kick you out for being quiet.

(NOTE: if you're fine with using voice chat, then I do recommend this game)

If you're into platformers, you should 100% give this game a chance, because it will deliver an amazing experience that not even modern platformers can achieve.

The movement feels so smooth and fluid that makes it satisfying to go fast. The level design fits both players that want to take it slow or speedy in platformers. Lastly, the game is so generous that you don't have to buy the prequel, since this game already includes levels from Rayman Origins.

The only downside is that is owned by Ubisoft, so you're forced to download their launcher and the servers no longer work, so you can't experience the daily/weekly challenges it had. But despite all of that, this game keeps being one of the best platformers to exist.

For the people that haven't seen this game before, I cannot recommend it enough even if you're not into decision making games. Is not really about the story, is more about the jokes and the references that you will encounter. All you need to do is sit back and enjoy the humor.

For the folks that have already seen this game elsewhere (like on YouTube), is still a must have. Is fun to revisit this game after a while because it allows you to relive the jokes again. Is also fun to get 100% on the game since the achievements let you see details that you wouldn’t see normally.

TIP: remove fullscreen if the game keeps crashing in a specific scene.

I remember finding this game difficult (and scary for some reason) on the Wii when I was younger, so I decided to do what I couldn't in the past and finally beat the game.

I ended up impressed by how fun the entire game was and also how responsive the controls felt with Keyboard & Mouse. So if you're thinking of getting this game because it was your childhood, don't hesitate because it works well on PC.

If you played Scribblenauts Unlimited and you were left wanting more, then this game is good for that.

However if you can only choose between Unlimited and Unmasked, then by far the best option is Unlimited (unless you love DC comics). This game is not that great compared to Unlimited because you can tell they put more focus on creating the superheroes rather than the actual gameplay.

Is cool the tasks are different every time you reload, but that comes with the cost of becoming repetitive and also anything you do in that area will be deleted when you leave unlike Unlimited.

The missions for the starites feel too short and too simple, at least in Unlimited if they were short it wasn't a problem since there was many areas to visit and some areas included 2 starites. Meanwhile Unmasked has very few areas and only the first 3 areas are big while the rest decrease in size, also each area only includes 1 starite.

So I can say the game is good if you already played Unlimited, but if it's your first time trying Scribblenauts then I would not recommend to play this game first... unless you really like DC comics.

I played this when I was younger on the Wii U, so I decided to revisit it years later and I enjoyed it :)

-----------------------------

While this game is meant for kids, that doesn't mean you can't have fun in it if you're older.
Most puzzles are gonna be simple, but it can be fun if you try to get creative instead of just directly putting the solution.
For example, if someone needs something for a race, instead of just typing a Horse or Car, maybe get creative typing a "Floating Rainbow Headless Cthulhu".

-----------------------------

Another fun thing about this game is just messing around, there is so many unique items that you can spawn anything by typing it, meaning you can create and do whatever you want.
If you wanna start a fight, you can.
If you wanna make an obstacle course, you can.
If you just wanna start chaos with a bunch of random items, you can!
You can even create or download stuff from the Steam Workshop if you wanna use items or characters from other franchises, like making Super Mario Bros characters be in some bar fight.

-----------------------------

So this game might not become your #1, but it can surely give you a good time despite it being over a decade old.

What an amazing and unique game it was, I wish it didn't have to go offline and instead they left the servers peer-to-peer :(

At least the developers released a private server version, so the game isn't completely gone:

Despite me playing it on the Wii U, I don't regret at all getting it again for the PC. First time or not, you will have a great time exploring the city and doing the missions, also as you progress, parts of the city and previous missions become available because of the new stuff you unlocked along the story.

I just got 2 crashes while playing the entire game. Remember you can refund it if you don't play more than 2 hours, so that way you have the time to check if it crashes constantly for you.

The games wants you to escape, but you decide how you approach that escape, you could take your time or make it quick, you could avoid trouble or become the trouble. The game let's you decide alone or with your friends, in what way you want to get that objective done, at the end you need the specific stuff, but is your way on how you get them.
