Please play this game. It's a hell of a good time with some pals and, for a unity game, is quite the high quality. play it.

This game is amazing. Hands down

Ok, to start, I am not saying this game is perfect. The game has some faults, but if the dev team commits to this game and patches it up, This game could become near perfect.

Pros:

Movement: The movement in this game is fluent. From the portals to the jetpack to just jumping around, it all ties together to create a fluent, fast paced movement system. I can also tell you that this game takes its portal physics straight form Portal, as the whole "slingshotting" yourself through portals is present and better than ever with the jetpack.

Gamemodes: The gamemodes, while basic, work. You have your classics such as Team Deathmatch and Domination, and some gamemodes straight out of halo with SWAT, CTF, and Oddball. They also bring back some iconic gamemodes such as Instagib, and add some interesting and amusing twists on classics such as Teabag Confirmed, which is Kill confirmed but the only way to confirm a kill is to teabag your opponents.

Gunplay: While the gunplay isn't perfect, It is perfectly Halo-y. The Assault Rifle and the Pistol are perfectly powerful (So long as you aim for the head), and most of the weapons laid around the map fit their niches perfectly. Although some guns (Looking at you plasma gun) are clearly underpowered and need buffing, there isn't one gun that feels completely overpowered, as most of the powerful guns are balanced out by their lack of ammo.

Microtransactions: I know this might seem like an odd pro, but the microtransactions in this game feel nice and I never feel as if I'm getting cheaped out by them. While yes this game does have lootboxes, The chances for each item are posted directly on them, so you know the chances of getting each rarity of tiem. The items themselves are nothing special, but all of them are cosmetic only, and don't give you a clear advantage over others.

Ranking system: The ranking system is straight out of Halo 3, with the 1-50 system that I (sadly) never got to experience, but can tell you that it is much better than the ELO system. It scores you based on how well you did, instead of how well your team did.

Cons

Maps: I will admit, some of the maps are not great, and some of them only work for certain gamemodes, but they don't feel out of place or confusing (at least to me, others may tell you otherwise). Their symmetry makes the maps feel balanced for each team, but sometimes with the portals certain gamemodes can become fustrating to play (FFA on Outpost, for example, is a nightmare). Hopefully with feedback the team will change and create better maps in the future, but for right now some of them just don't work. Some maps are great though (SAW Stadium, Atlantis, and Pantheon are amazing to play on and never dissapoint me)

Optimization: This might only be a problem for a few, including me with my mediocre computer, but this game isn't very optimized for low-end computers. My computer at the lowest settings can barely pull of 60 fps with dips, so hopefully with future patches the dev team optimizes the game a bit

Servers Servers can feel a bit wonky at times, with shots that seem like they should hit not hitting and my constant 90 ping on the NA servers, but this might just be a me problem.

Voice Chat I don't have any actual problems with the voice chat system itself (It actually makes the game more enjoyable to be honest) but if I had to complain, Who in the f*** turned open mic on by default?! That is a terrible idea and made for some really annoying moments before I and many others realized it was on.

In conclusion

This game is most definitely worth your time. It is the perfect Halo game with the ingenious mix of Portal into it. While the game isn't perfect, the dev team promised to make patches to the game over time, and with those I can see this game becoming a great free to play alternative to Halo, even with the MCC coming out soon.

When it works, This is one of my favorite battle royales on the market right now. It hits the 80's theme perfectly and has simple but complex gameplay. While it still is in it's early stages, I believe that this game will stick around for a long time once the full version is released. Plus, it's free and completely non pay-2-win, so I would give it a shot.
