If it wasn't the Resident Evil franchise, I would honestly drop the game.
Resident 1 was simply unplayable because of moronic controls, so I started with RE2.
I've no idea why people would willingly play this without unlimited ammo - I am not masochistic enough.
The amount of story is 1000x less than the laps you do around the map. TWICE. I’d rather have 100+ ammo and tons of zombies to deal with than waste time looking for a book to place somewhere, only to get another item, then take a thing from that item to put somewhere else and get a USB that I need to plug into a PC (after another hour of running simulator) just to unlock 1-2 weapons. That’s not fun. Why does a police station look like a museum, btw?..........
Did not understand the idea of a big dude running after me throughout the whole game. Who's he? Why unkillable? Maybe that's explained somewhere in the notes, but after running 100,000 laps I did not have the mental capacity to read anything. The few things I did read were nothing more than "Something happened here, we’re all dying." Inspirational, informative, thought-provoking even.
I finished the first run in 6h hours with unlimited ammo dlc, 5 of which were probably just me running around the map (I am dumb and the map was hard to read).
There wasn’t much interaction between characters to understand their personalities or feel anything towards them. I run for a while, meet Ada, she says something 𝒸𝓊𝓃𝓉𝓎, I run again. Would like more cutscenes, more talking, more something else.

TL;DR gameplay meh, story blueballed me.
Unless you're a die hard fan of RE, in my opinion it's easier to just watch a playthrough. I am in the middle of the second run, but I do not think my opinion will change after I finish it.
