Would definitely recommend this game to people who just like to kill with friends.
Although, if you thought Versus might be fun, then you're right but, if you were thinking of playing with randoms in a public match, then i'll tell ya something.
Randoms who play versus are mostly the MOST SWEATY TRYHARDS IN THE WORLD. Why I saw "Mostly" is because not all randoms are complete Tryhards. Sometimes Versus may pair you up with the worst players in the world. Jumping into fire, Jumping off a cliff, Throwing every grenade in the map, Dying the fastest, Not knowing how to play the game, Not knowing when to use items, shooting other teammates constantly, "Kissing" the walls, and not knowing fall damage exists, I could go on and on.
But I'm here to leave a review. So, I would recommend this decade year old game.
Tip 1: Play with Friends.
Tip 2: Play Campaign.
Tip 3: Learn how to play and learn what items do and not do.
Tip 4: Don't shoot blinking cars. They will attract a horde.
Tip 5: When in doubt, use an Melee Weapon.
Tip 6: Listen for cues in the music. Listening is key.
Tip 7: Put Captions on.
Tip 8: Listen to yours and your friends' lines about Special Infected.
Tip 9: Remain Vigilant.
Tip 10: Enjoy the game.
Remember: This game takes TIME to LEARN how to PLAY.
It's not always a cakewalk.
