This is the best game I have ever played in my whole life. It will suck you in with the drive to get better. It will teach you so much about yourself, and show you how much you can achieve. This game is well worth every penny. If you're on the fence about it, give it a go.

Most of the playtime throughout the past week consisted of running, being alone, and more specifically running in the pitch black night. Although you could argue that it is a running simulator, and has been over five years in development without any change. One thing made me write this review. This one instance reignited the love that I have for this game. Mid-day, I was lone-wolfing at the NW airfield. I was hesitent to move inward on the tents in fear of being blindsided by another being with the same intent and caution that I possessed. I took time scoping out the area to ensure that my entrance would not be met with death. I sat there thinking to myself, "It's now or never, if it's clear, go! Because if nobody is in there, you're okay. Do not wait for someone to go in." The dilemma of waiting to KNOW if someone is in there makes it easier, or taking your own chances and biting the bullet. I sucked it up and ran full speed to break in the barriers. Once in, I slowly worked my way around, dodging undead and trying to scrape up loot. I get to the last loot point. It was a two story watchtower type structure with camo netting on it. I tried using the ladder to check up top, but I was not able to. I decided that it was time to depart and I started checking the surrounding hills. My eyes scanned as I looked for any movement. Then I saw it.
I saw two men dressed in full military camo checking the tents. I pulled out my Mosin with a medium-range scope and took a clear look, to see if they saw me. The red armband stuck out to me and immediately signaled that they weren't looking to be friends. As I leaned around the barrier I saw him aim so I took the shot. The loud bang of the rifle sent my adrenaline rushing and my heart pumping. He fell backward with so much force, you would've thought he got hit by a truck. His buddy went out of view, and so did I. I decided to hightail it out of there and loop around to finish what I started, as well as getting the loot. I was worried that zombies and or a potential third was enroute to get me. I crept up near the scene of the crime. I scanned as much as I could, again, looking for movement all the while my heart was racing as the thought of being shot from behind lingered. Just then I saw the muzzle of a rifle above a bush across the field about 75 meters away. I took aim and waited for the shot. Whether or not he saw me doesn't matter, what matters is that the shot I took, took him down. I moved in to where I thought I had tagged the first guy. It had been about 5-10 minutes after the first shot so I thought that maybe he despawned or his buddy hid his body. But to my luck I could not find him. "Strange, but okay.", I thought to myself, so I moved to the second body. While looting, I heard shots whiz over my head. I quickly got up and sprinted back up the hill to get a better view. Once collected, I found his position. The zombies has closed in on him and started attacking. This caused him to run, which left me with an open shot. As he was running, I was able to place one in his back to which left him collapsing hard in the dirt. This was the missing first guy. He took two rounds of 7.62x54 and was finally out for the count. I ended up leaving the airfield with not only materals like an AKM, but the love for the game again. That adrenaline filled firefight, made me miss what left me in the mod. Sure, the UI disapeared and wouldn't come back even after relog. Sure, the night the makes you not able to see a thing, not even 2 feet in front of you. But the gameplay is better. It is more refined, polished, and raw. It is supposed to be hardcore and even though it has been over five years coming, love it or hate it, I am glad it is where it is. Thank you devs.
