The short version is: it's alright. Nice to have some good quality Portal content again. I had a decent time, I don't regret playing it.

However...

1. I'm not sure if the introduction to the mechanics is good enough for someone who has never played Portal before. You might say that this game is meant for people who HAVE played Portal but in that case...
2. It takes a long time to get the dual portal gun and the single portal gun felt limiting after some time.
3. There are a lot of jokes taken straight from Portal 2 with nothing added. There is plenty of decent, original humor but especially at the beginning it felt weird hearing the same jokes again in what is basically the same game.
4. The story is fine. Not great, not bad. Unfortunately it competes with some of the best game writing in history in Portal 2 and that comparison is not good at all for Revolution.

So yeah, if you want more Portal stuff, hop right in! Just don't expect Portal 3.

Great game for when you have five minutes to spend with someone you like :)

There is a great game in there somewhere, however you never get to see it through bugs, weird design decisions and, most importantly, the insane, unfathomable greed of Gaijin "Entertainment".
Maybe some designers or devs actually try to work on bringing the players entertainment (if the shareholders allow it) but the company? The CEOs? These ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥♥♥♥♥♥♥ make the game so insufferable that even though the gameplay is super close to being incredibly good and there is literally no other game like it - i quit and don't want to see this garbage until the economy is fixed.

So, if you like spending 40+ hours a week forcing yourself to grind in a game with so many problems that are clearly created just to make you more frustrated, sure, get the game.

If you have a fortune that you would like to pass on to some greedy ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥♥ (and maybe a tiny bit will go to the devs... Maybe) - get the game and buy everything just to realize the gameplay is broken anyway, even if you're a paid player.

But if you don't want to get frustrated playing a game designed to make you frustrated, just skip it. For the love of everything that you hold dear, skip it and wait for the profits to get bad enough so that they have to fix the game in order to get players back.

One of the best games ever made, expands on the first one and improves every aspect, great characters, level design, sound design... it's legendary. Play it.

Just look at my X3: Terran Conflict review, add more ships, more sectors, some new missions and a massive war going on. Still great game.

This is my favorite game of all time.

I love science fiction and spaceship stuff but don't let that make my review not matter.

What you get in the game is hundreds of sectors to explore, dozens of ships and dozens of weapons with no clear best ones (which is quite impressive), tons of stations and wares with decently simulated economy, a consistent world where everything you do makes sense. There is no "oh, this is just for gameplay", the world IS the game and the game is the world. You are part of it. You can make your own story in this world. Not play the game. Make your story.

Great game and don't let that hour count deceive you. I've played it off Steam for a WHILE too. And add the Albion Prelude hours too.

My experience is one of a fighting game noob. It's my first fighting game that I really played (yeah, I don't count mashing buttons in Tekken 5 on a borrowed PSP when I was a kid) and I thoroughly enjoyed getting my ass kicked (and occasionally kicking ass). The entire audiovisual design is extremely satisfying (the animations and sounds of each hit are just... yes. Big yes), the characters are unique (at least from what I can tell, I've mostly played just one of them... yes, after 135 hours I barely touched anybody but Kabal) and there is a lot to do and a LOT to learn for someone like me.

The game is not perfect, some fights against the AI can be frustrating with the various weird modifiers in the Towers of Time and it's basically the game of "choose your own consumables to make the fight fair again... or just take the one that gives you health back cuz it's universal" which doesn't really add much to the game. Another thing is, getting the skin you want for your character is mostly random with only a few exceptions. So if you're unlucky you may have to grind a bunch.

The issues above however do not change the fact that the core gameplay is fun and satisfying and will definitely give me more hours of enjoyment in the future. So, what are you waiting for? GET OVER HERE!

This is one of the few games I enjoy sucking at.

THIS GAME IS AWESOME!

The feeling of exploration, interesting stories, places teeling stories by themselves, mysteries and just the climate! Absolutely great. Than, after one playthrough you are bored. Everything is the same. So you look for better fun and you discover mods! Thousands of them! And you play again! And again! And again! Totally worth playing. Even now.
