Explanation

The game is very enjoyable. I've spent plenty of time doing quests, combat, building outposts and customizing my ship(s). I think the Pros speak for themselves so I'll focus more on the cons in my explanation.

I cannot say the game promotes exploration after the first 5-10 hours depending on how you're playing, because after that point, 90% of the locations or Points of Interest you will find on different planets will be the same layout with the same enemies each time. All loot will be in similar places as well. Of course it is unrealistic to think that every area would be completely different, but these areas are exactly the same each time. Not even a single prop is in a different position than it was the time before.

Shops rarely sell anything higher than blue rarity and as a result, you will likely never find yourself actively spending your credits on anything other than resources to craft and build, medical supplies to heal and buff yourself in combat, building and customizing your ship, or paying off your bounties. Why would you? Go kill a named enemy and you'll likely get a purple or yellow drop, and it will be significantly better than any blue you could buy. In 50 hours I have seen one shop sell just 2 blue items.

You can join many major factions just like other Bethesda games. However, siding with certain factions can really bog down the fun of the game after awhile. For example, siding with the Crimson Fleet will essentially keep you from fighting through entire areas on many planets as they will be controlled by other Pirates from the Fleet and will become non-hostile. You would think since they're pirates, there'd be no honor among thieves and that you could simply just attack them without consequence to get the loot they carry. Well that's not the case at all. You will accrue a bounty with the Crimson Fleet if you do this and it stacks very quickly.

The performance is very poor, and I'd like to think I've got a pretty good PC. In most areas on Medium-High and even some settings on low, I'll get anywhere from 30FPS to 50FPS on average. 60FPS - 120FPS for the smaller and less intense areas which are very few and far between. For reference, my specs can be found here https://pcpartpicker.com/list/FxW29c

The game features no DLSS AT ALL. Which is very surprising, especially considering most AAA Games nowadays come with DLSS on launch with FSR as an option as well, whereas Starfield offers only the latter.

I do recommend the game, just know that if you did not enjoy Fallout 4 or similar Bethesda games, you will likely not enjoy this game.

Risk of Rain 2 is the second installment in the Risk of Rain series and is a significant improvement over what is already a fantastic game from what I've seen and been told. Risk of Rain, the first game in the series, is a 2D roguelike game whereas Risk of Rain 2 is a 3D roguelike game. Hopoo Games made the switch from 2D to 3D work flawlessly and the game is very enjoyable.

Risk of Rain 2's gameplay is high octane, action packed, and what can often be described as hectic. There are many characters or rather "survivors" as they're called, to choose from when playing. Though when first starting you'll only be able to pick from two survivors, Huntress and Commando, to play as. You'll unlock more survivors via challenges you are able to complete, some coming with their own secret areas. The same goes for items. You have a certain amount of items already unlocked when starting and will have to unlock some of the "better" ones via challenges. The game offers a lot of content on its own and even more so with the Survivors of The Void DLC.

While there's a lot offered in the Vanilla game, there's even more added by the community with mods. Modding this game is made surprisingly easy for Risk of Rain 2 in comparison to other games I've tried to mod before. It took all of 3 minutes to begin modding it with no complicated process. There's plenty of mods to install ranging from simple fixes, Quality of Life additions and changes, or mods that change the game entirely, some even adding new enemies, difficulties, and items.

Whether you're playing the game unmodded or modded, you'll have a lot of content to experience and go through.

If you like roguelike games you'll enjoy this one.

TLDR; You should play this game if you like a more arcade-like shooter with a little hint of realism, or have played Battlefield 3 and Bad Company/Bad Company 2 and enjoy that style of gameplay.

I've been playing Battlefield since Bad Company 2, and I must say, the franchise has fallen from grace, to be frank with you. The recent Battlefield games (1 to 2042) have been a complete shift from all previous Battlefield games, in regards to how realistic they are. EA and DICE used to understand that there was a certain level of realism that could be applied to the arcade-like gameplay to make it more fun without making the game feel sluggish or like it demanded too much from you to actually play, and recently (excluding 2042), they've completely scrapped the arcade gameplay for more realistic-like gameplay.

If you're a Battlefield "veteran" like myself, you're probably wondering why I didn't include Hardline in the above point of "complete shift" and that's because that game is still an Arcade-like Battlefield game despite all of its flaws. Side note; I personally believe Hardline wouldn't have been received so poorly if it wasn't released after Battlefield 4, a significantly better game, and was instead released after Battlefield 1 or V.

Now, specifically regarding Battlefield 4, it is a fantastic Battlefield and I'd argue it's the last great Battlefield game, and the last one to stay true to what Battlefield was and should be. There's a reason so many people, including myself, still play it today. When the game launched it was a buggy mess but overtime, similarly to Battlefield 3, it was molded into what could be described as DICE's last museum worthy painting. The game is fast paced, action packed, and just generally fun.

This game has and had so much potential. It's actually really fun until you realize you have to pay for 90% of the good guns, the coolest clothes to customize your character, vehicle upgrades, etc, with real money. This game has had many companies purchase and sell it. In fact this game has been on life support since the game's release, and this is actually the second release of it, hence "reloaded".

Every single owner of this game has promised to "deliver" and actually bring the game back from the dead but they all end up defaulting to milking the players dry and only really releasing updates that involve the store. The game is so far behind the times, you couldn't even uncap the FPS or alter much basic PC settings without using a third party client. But don't worry! They released an update that allows you to set custom FPS caps! Oh but they didn't create the UI for that so you have to follow a step by step tutorial to do it in the game's files on your computer. Many quests and NPCs can not even be progressed because of the lack of players in certain districts or areas within the game which are required to be there for some of the quest progression.

In 2021 they released a road map for that year and 2 years later still haven't completed 1 thing on their 2021 road map. They intended to release the game's 2.0 update that year but instead didn't release a single update at all. This game is a complete failure and the new-new company that owns the game knows that.

If you are considering trying this game, DON'T.

TLDR; You should buy this game if you like open world RPGs that are moderately difficult.

To start, Elden Ring is my first FromSoftware game, though from what I've gathered, it improves upon the franchise, taking nothing but giving more. At the time of this review I am on my third playthrough and I am still enjoying the game. There's plenty to explore and do in the game for new players and players on their tenth playthrough. The bosses are fun, the quests are good, and the story and lore is rich. While it is a good game with a lot of content and a lot of lore. Although, It's not all sunshine and rainbows.

Unfortunately, the PC port of this game is not extremely stable and is marred by many issues. As of the recent patch (1.03.2), crashes have become very prominent and can occur at any time. For example, I've invaded players multiple times this patch and when the game is about to start loading me into the world, the game freezes and crashes. Hopefully this will be fixed soon.

Currently in patch 1.03.2, the game does not use your GPU [AT ALL] for the game. The game is run entirely on your CPU. The frame drops as a result, are very prominent. Sometimes even dropping to 35-40 FPS. (My specs are viewable on my steam page if you'd like to see what I'm playing on)

Ignoring the performance issues, I'd give the game a 9.5/10

Including the issues mentioned above, I'd give the game an 8.5/10

The review kind of writes itself.

Crucible was a failed game from a company with no idea what they're trying to make.

It was doomed from the start as the developers had no idea what the players actually wanted and when they listened and gave the players what they wanted, in typical player fashion, the players asked for more. When the devs couldn't deliver more, the players left.

At some point, the developers decided to "Un-release" the game and start from scratch which did not work at all. Clearly indicated by the fact that the game is no longer playable and essentially doesn't even exist.

Even if this game was still around, I would not have recommended you play it.

I've clocked in near 500 hours in this game on Origin. Personally I'd say that I quite enjoy the game and it is, in my opinion, the best Battle Royale on the market right now. Though, I have trouble loving this game like I could in Season 4.

There's a lot of audio issues that Respawn claims to be trying to iron out, but these issues did not just appear last month. There has been many audio issues plaguing the game since Season 5. These audio issues started out with one character (Pathfinder) not having footstep audio until they were right next to you. As it stands currently, there is often missing audio for gunshots, doors opening or closing, pings, footsteps and much more. For some reason, there is a particular area on the map (Between Turbine and Hammond Labs) where audio issues dealing with doors and pings and such are extremely frequent. So much so that you could ping "Enemy here" 5 times when standing in this very large area, and only hear the sound for it a single time or not at all.

Aside from audio issues, Respawn decided to make a change to the Battle Pass system in Season 7 that makes it significantly more annoying to level your Battle Pass. To level the Battle Pass in Season 7, you must do Daily & Weekly Challenges or simply play to earn "stars" towards the next Battle Pass level. Previously you would just earn XP towards the next level, but now you earn stars from XP towards the next level. In the span of 5 hours played in Season 7, ignoring challenges (but completing some by playing like usual), I've reached Battle Pass level 4 as of writing this review.

I would recommend this game, despite its flaws and Respawn making questionable changes and sometimes changes that nobody asked for. The game and how it's managed can definitely be frustrating but I think it is the best BR you can possibly get into at the moment. Try it. It's free & you can always uninstall it if you don't like it

2024 Edit: EA has decided to change the battlepass system to something that milks the playerbase for more money, but they pass it off as something that is healthy for the game. They decided to split the battlepass in 2 and make it so both need to be purchased. But they can only be bought with real money. Don't play this game. Vote with your wallets. Don't login.

Overall, this game is very fun and entertaining to play even as a Spaceman. I've personally only ever opted-in to be a Monster one time, and still I have fun. While the game of course has its bugs and issues, it is definitely a very fun experience. The current version as of writing this review is Version 1.2.1

I started playing a few days before 1.2 released and must say that 1.1 was a better and more balanced patch for the game than the current 1.2, however I still find the game enjoyable. Though there is times where I definitely become a bit frustrated with the current meta.

The game does have some optimization issues but this may just be me (I have a 980). The aiming can be a bit clunky at times, and there are some hitbox issues that I'm sure will be fixed in the future. Official Servers tend to get pretty toxic so I would personally recommend playing on a community server instead, as they're usually moderated more than the official servers.

P.S. - This game came out before Among Us (2016) where as Among Us came out in 2018. Please stop calling it an Among Us clone.
