Hunt: Showdown... probably among my top 10 favorite games of all time. No game has made me so tense and shake uncontrollably with adrenaline. It was harsh, unforgiving and thrilling. Dangers where lurking all around so you had to constantly be on the lookout.

Unfortunately what started out as a unique hardcore bounty hunting game has slowly turned into yet another run and gun shooter. Where previously giving away your position was a mistake and stealth encourage, now the compounds have radars and the people with the bounty are granted literal wallhacks. It's one game layered on top of another and the whole thing has turned into a complete mess. I think this is yet another cautionary tale of what happens to unique games launched through early access. Crytek set out with noble intentions, but lost their way.

If you're looking for a tense hunting game it's not that anymore, if you're looking for a shooter there are others that do it better. I wouldn't recommend this game to anyone. Not anymore.
