Short and fun, worth the cheap entry cost.

I love Tomba, and I don't regret my purchase because I like owning the game on steam in any form, and being able to play it on PC.

However, this is a VERY lazy special edition. It removed some minor features like adjusting text speeds, and removed Japanese entirely which is just kinda funny..

But the videos look fuzzy and terrible, no effort was made to make this game better, they just slapped it on some crappy emulator and released it with some 'new' music that sounds really similar IMO.

I've watched a lot more of this then I have played admittedly, but this is what passion projects on steam should be. Nito put their heart and soul into this game for years, so don't let "Early Access" scary you. This game has WAY more in it then most games wearing that frightening tag.

It's just fun packed into a game, you can see it in the gameplay just by watching.

I know I haven't played this much yet, and I'll try more later, but this game just isn't good. I can already tell. The combat is just straight up bad, clunky simple and boring. The level design is simple and boring, honestly boring is the best way to describe everything. Even toggling the attack styles/elements for other abilities feels slow and boring.

Enemy attacks are hard to dodge because it's hard to tell they are about to attack, and hitting them makes the attacks delay, sometimes. It's unpredictable really from what I can tell.

Even the video shows the total world map. The zones are effectively linear. I wouldn't say they are a straight line, there are some jumps in there... but it's kind of a straight line. No sense of exploration.

I could go on. I'm sure people would say "it's only early access" These level of problems don't seem like something early access time would fix. Maybe their second game could be better when they learn lessons from this attempt.

Sorry, but I really don't think releasing this in early access was a good idea.

This game took a long time to develop because the devs took their time and put a lot of careful effort into it. I highly recommend you play this co-op with a friend.

The single best game remake of all time. You've seen bad remakes.. but you have never seen one be this faithful, while being this different, and so much better.

I'm confused, I'm playing it but.. where are the micro transactions? Where is the time gated city building game?

I love the kingdom series, but this is a step back.

Yes, coop is gone and I'm sure lots are talking about it, but I was excited to try this anyway. Heres what went wrong.

This game was delayed a ton, so I thought they were packing a ton into it. They kept saying coop wouldn't work for the experience they had planned.

The experience was a linear 4 level campaign, where the first level is basically a tutorial. So, effectively you get 3 short levels of kingdom with new mechanics. These 'new' mechanics are basically just 1 mechanic. You can make the kids do chores for money. Each one is the same, but has different art per station on each level.

You can't send armies out to attack anymore.. but you can still make the armies for no reason? And you cant build arrow towers, instead you just get overpowered laser tower things. You can just walk around with your dumpster and plow through portals each night, since the greed can't do much if you walk backwards and shoot them.

The art is basically the only positive thing about this game, the linear story really saps the fun out of the game in my opinion. Kingdom needed new ideas to expand beyond what it used to be, not taking most out in favor of a totally basic non-story.

Why don't more games let you pick a controller to show button prompts for xbox playstation or nintendo controllers? It's so simple and so good.

Game is pretty darn fun too
