Do we really have a choice? Is it really our own? Not influenced by others? Even so, how would you know the choice mattered in the end?

Great short game that gets you thinking if you want it to.

Bugs and performance aside, see this as an overall improvement from the first game, with a lot of the first game DLCs being part of the base game. Being able to adjust the tax of specific material/immaterial goods and differing education levels is my favorite part and adds a lot of flexibility to the game and to how you want your city to end up. The way the roads connect now are very fluid and allow for a lot of possibilities (although sometimes it's not perfect).

However, as a few other reviews mention, there is a huge issue with "Zombies". These are pops who, when you demolish their house to put something else down, end up sitting around doing nothing (sounds like a lot of people I know), become homeless, and never leave your city. This has put a soft cap on my city of 200k population. I have plenty of residential zones ready to be moved into, and have even gotten my residential tax down to -5%, but can't get new people to move in. I've tried making free bus lines, free boat rides and free plane trips out of the city but these homeless people do nothing but stand. Some of them say they're doing something (like "shopping), but in reality they are just standing there.

There is also an issue with "Lodging". My 200k pop city with all 4 tourist attractions will not spawn any lodging. I've set lodging tax to -10%, and repeatedly bulldozed high-commercial areas trying to get one to spawn, but it just won't. Considering Lodging requires food, I set my food production tax extremely low, giving me a surplus of food, but still no lodging spawns. Free transportation in/out of the city and nothing.

I've only really noticed these 2 bugs at around ~30 hours in, For the most part, I feel the game is fun, works well, and runs decent, and for how complicated and interconnected this game is, I'm surprised I haven't ran into any more issues or even crashes. I do, however, think they need to fix the homeless issue asap.

Still enjoy playing the game, but since releasing CS2, valve has yet to release multiple maps from csgo (cache!?!?!), as well as extra casual gamemodes like flying scoutsman and retakes. They halved the amount of wingman maps, and worst of all, you can't create private lobbies anymore (I tried getting my dad into the game but could not play with him against bots, and real people were too hard, so he gave up) Also, as if anyone cared, no Danger Zone.

It's like they went back in time and applied a graphics update.

At least they didn't do it as a way to add a battlepass and milk the playerbase like Overwatch 2. Feel bad for those still playing that garbage.

Very cool idea, executed well, but for some reason a little bland.

Not a lot of replay value despite unlocking new traits depending on how far you get with one civilization. It's the same storyline, same events happen each time. Takes way too long to get to the space age, and as others suggest, the game starts to play itself once your upgrade your town hall enough, because your nuggets start to build just about everything for you.

15 hours in and I'm still not in the space age. Having trouble wanting to continue playing to see what's even different at that point, just because of how bland the last few hours have felt. I would recommend if they added some more variety (different/random events) and difficulty settings (I wiped out all the exile settlements without any issue and even the alien invasion was underwhelming.) Definitely needs a speed faster than 2x.
