This is a decent point and click mystery game, with some solid ideas behind it, but it lacks polish.

The cutscenes are sort of a comic book style, and I can't say I like the art style for this title. The animations in game were choppy, unnatural, and full of glitches and models tearing whenever they moved. The graphics are just plain ugly. The interface is sparse, but works well enough. Some of the mechanics, such as Erica's visions, are interesting to play around with, but others are just gimmicks, or half-baked. I also ran into a glitch, where I couldn't unlock a critical piece of evidence, so I couldn't get anywhere. It took me over an hour to realize that there was a problem, and another couple to backtrack and retrace my steps. That was by far the most frustrating issue I encountered.

But it's got a great story, and that is why I can recommend this game. I can forgive all the issues and the bad graphics, because the story took an interesting idea and ran with it. There are a few warts here, as well, and I rolled my eyes a bit, but I enjoyed myself for the majority of it. If you want a mystery or a good hard-boiled detective story, this certainly kept me engaged.

Great game. The gameplay from Human Revolution is back. You can sneak through vents, avoid all enemies and slip past laser grides, or pull out a grenade launcher and clear the room. There are multiple paths around every situation, and new augs to support lethal or nonlethal runs. The Hub area has been expanded, and there is lots to explore here. Several sidequests, each intriguing in their own right, are there is you spend a little time looking around for them.

The tone of the game is also back, with a noir-style conspiracy investigation. There's the question of who to trust, how to follow up on the next lead, and there are a few tough choices to be made. I know some people had trouble with the ending, or with some other aspects of the story, but I didn't mind so much myself.

Unfortunately, this game is a resource hog on high settings. I had to drop the texture quality a bit to make it run, but once I did, there weren't too many other issues.

In short, more of this, please.

This is a good game marred by terrible bugs. The combat system works fine, just like the other Arkham games, and the detective missions and side quests expand upon the lore. The story is good, and though the final boss battle still isn't that much of a challenge, I still thought it was better than the first Arkham game. You have a few new gadgets, like the shock gloves, and the disrupter, and the old ones still make an appearance. The game also has more jamming for the detective vision, to increase the challenge just a bit, but usually it's just one guy you have to take out in a predator room.

I really liked the crime scene analysis missions, reconstructing the events and showing what occured step by step. It really adds to the game and the experience of being the world's greatest detective.

Where this game really falls apart for me is when all the bugs start to appear. There have been more minor ones, like enemies falling through the ground and disappearing, or being unable to interrogate anyone. The worst are the freezing glitches. I've had to reboot the game on multiple occasions, and I was forced to get rid of DX11 and anti-aliasing in the graphics options menu to get through the last section of the game. This should have been fixed ages ago.

I wouldn't recommend this on PC in it's current state, the crashing and freezing really annoyed me. Get it on a console, it'll work so much better.
