MMR is AWFUL. As a first time killer, why am I being pit against a 3-man pre-made that's spamming flashlights, flash grenades, and the stupid jump out of locker perk.

Power creep and meta has gone crazy. For new players being unable to craft a handful of competitive decks is a nightmare. All meta decks are basically rock paper scissors, and if you're new and not able to make a meta deck, then you just lose.

The art is pretty. The voice acting is very hit or miss. And the story is generic.

Is Apico a good game? Yes.
Is Apico a $20 game? No.

It is a fun game, great window management, but really the only thing to do is breed bees until you get them all and complete the short lil' story. Which overall shouldnt take too long because there really isnt anything else to do. Which is sad, because I want to keep playing this charming bee adventure, but since beating the game, every time I start it up it's like "well now what?" then I quit a few minutes later.

You want to farm money? Great but there really isnt anything to spend it on.
Building? Decent, but the building options are really limited.
Automation? You get some, but there are still a lot of manual management the prevents you from getting beyond a certain threshold.

It's a great short game, with a lot of charm and will hold you through however long it takes you to clear the story. But is it a $20 game? As of writing this no. For most people I would suggest waiting for the game to go on sale, or wait to see how much the Devs/modding community do to further the gameplay.

I'll start this review by saying this game isn't worth $30, under 12 hours i feel like i have thoroughly exhausted all the fun/content i can out of this game. I definitely recommend waiting for it to be on sale before purchasing.

Core gameplay is a lot of fun, your first time playing you will encounter a very reasonable learning curve, and you'll probably fail on your first run through, which is fine, i respect a game that can balance it's difficulty.

For what this game offers, it does really well. But you'll see all it has to offer in 1-2 play through(s).

Very small amount of PvE missions, 3 PvP options (all 2v2), no friends list, P2W, "drop rates" are 1%.

You will be spending all your time running the same PvE missions over and over and that's is, that's the game...

And out of the 4 classes, 2 are locked behind either a giant grind wall, or by dropping some $$$.

But cell shaded graphics are nice i guess.
