While it's hard to beat what the original brought forth, this game just doesn't live up to what it could have been. By itself, Outlast 2 is an okay horror game that relies on being more shocking than terrifying. It's blatantly obvious that the story is trying to push an anti-religion theme , making it unoriginal and forced. The voice acting is not much to marvel at, mostly just the main character continuously cursing over and over. Definitely doesn't get repetitive or annoying fast. But what's important in a horror game is the horror, and sadly there's not much of it here. Not to say that Outlast 2 doesn't have it's moments, but it heavily relies on cheap jumpscares and tedious stealth sections. The scariest part was having one of the NPCs chase me around a table like two kids playing tag and having the NPC almost catch me. Other than that, certainly was disappointed with this installment.
