I have to say that I disagree with most of the negative reviews. It feels like they did not even know how to play Redout 1 properly. The game is great and quality is way higher than Redout 1.

The game handles very similarly to the 1st game, I did notice that strafing applies more force on your vehicle and you can rotate the vehicle better at higher speeds which allows for higher speed slides. The new overheat mechanic is awesome. It allows you to use your vehicle health as boost, Health regen is decently fast but there is quite a delay before it kicks in after taking damage either from hits or from overheat. This interaction rewards cleaner racing because hitting the wall will delay your health regen which mean less boost. The game starts off pretty difficult due to the enemies starting with upgrades but after a few races you catch up quickly and it evens out. Even then the 1st place AI definitely knows how to play the game and the campaign is way harder than Redout 1 at the start.

Have to say though there is quite a lot of frame drops in the cut scenes but other than that the game ran perfectly on my machine.

In my opinion the game is way better than Redout 1 and there is no reason for me to ever go back.

Damn Good game, good amount of songs on the base game. You're gunna have to get used to taping the same button crazy fast which tends to happen a lot on 2 button rhythm games.
