Early Access Review
The game is adorable and really well fleshed out for EA. I backed it on Kickstarter and wasn't planning on playing until after it left EA, but I needed a quick dopamine fix and these little blobs delivered.

As it is in EA, there are some rough spots in the leveling or things aren't 100% clear in game yet, but the base mechanics are available and are working smoothly. There is already a ton of dialog and progression. The game also includes some QoL things that other games either don't or make you wait a long time to get - fast travel and linked storage are the first that come to mind.

The developer is INCREDIBLY responsive. I was able to reach out via the Discord to report a crashing issue and submit logs directly to the dev. I got a response within 24 hours (this is a weekend!) and I'm testing the fix suggestions right now.

A wiki is being developed right now and the folks in the discord are very helpful.

Overall, I'm very glad I backed this one and picked it up in EA.

Game crashed after 6 hours of play. There is a player-found fix in the discussions, but it doesn't resolve my crashing issue. Game will not load at all now and here is no developer support.

Edit: Some combination of uninstalling, reinstalling, turning off cloud savings, turning on cloud saves, replacing a txt file with one provided by another player repeatedly eventually made it work. I have no idea what order or combination it was that finally did it. I've made it to end game and not really digging the grind so walking away for a while.

I've never played a resource/time management game quite like this, so the mechanics were refreshing. It is possible to 3-star all the levels so long as you pay attention to what resources are needed and plan accordingly.

However, I have two complaints.
1 - Skip the story. It's just white savior colonialism BS that isn't new or even makes sense.
2 - It needs more audio responses when a target is selected. OK. OK. OK. OK.

I'm only rating the game because it's a quest to do so. That right there tells you a little something about the nature of the game.
It isn't exactly pay to play, but it sure is a hell of a lot of waiting if you don't want to pay the microtransactions. I would much rather be able to pay to unlock all of the game.
Microtransactions aside, it is a new take on the hidden item genre that I rather like. This is the only reason I'm giving it a thumbs up.
But I think an option to unlock the whole game would be a vast improvement. It would still be a bit on the grindy side as there is an RNG element to collecting what you need, but I could play when I wanted for as much time as I have available and not be artificially gated in an effort to wring $2.99 out of me.
